Structures Operations Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily manufacturing and production control activities.
- Coordinate inventory control and materials functions, including purchasing and shipping/receiving.
- Monitor and improve operational processes in conjunction with quality assurance and engineering teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in translating customer requirements into effective manufacturing strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of operations.
- Provide training and development for operational staff.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and process improvements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field of study.
- 5+ years of operations management experience.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory management.
- Familiarity with the practical application of production/manufacturing principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
- Exposure to materials management systems.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Professional certification such as Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six-sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints Manufacturing Principles.
- Understanding of Assembly, Integration, and Test practices.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the work shift.
- Hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally as required.
- Ability to read detailed operational documents, reports, and computer screens.
- Ability to inspect operations and facilities, potentially in different lighting conditions.
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments such as manufacturing floors or during team meetings.
- Ability to navigate large facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders if necessary.
- Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for site visits or other work-related travel.
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as adjusting small controls or tools during inspections or demonstrations.
