Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Lead Design, development, and testing of radio-frequency (RF) system architecture, components, circuits, or products – including antenna design, frequency synthesizers, transmitters, and receivers.
Coordinate with supplier(s) to drive system performance.
Lead evaluation of product performance against requirements.
Perform pre-test predictions using analytical models.
Conduct RF CCA (components, circuits, and assemblies) analysis.
Lead structured trade studies and multidisciplinary analyses (e.g., FEM, thermal, shock) to evaluate alternative solutions, mitigate technical risk, and capture innovation opportunities.
Formulate and present design change proposals; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders; maintain configuration management and baseline control.
Identify, assess, and implement risk-mitigation strategies for design and integration issues, driving corrective actions and opportunity capture.
Serve as senior liaison with program management, customers, and external partners, representing the organization on advanced technical matters and advising senior leadership.
Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to senior and junior engineers across hardware and systems disciplines.
Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, verification, and qualification testing, including environmental and electromagnetic testing of hardware.
Drive adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo EA) to support system architecture and requirements traceability.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience, or 10 years of experience with a Master's degree; 6 years of experience with PHD
Required for Both Levels:
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Demonstrated experience performing advanced CAD modeling and analysis using Siemens NX (or equivalent) on aerospace and defense hardware projects.
Experience with systems engineering tools such as CAMEO/DOORS and applying MBSE practices to complex weapon-system development.
Hands-on experience with a network analyzer.
Proficiency with Microsoft?Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS?Project, and engineering scheduling tools or applications.
Familiarity with CAD/EM tools such as Mentor Graphics Capital/Xpedition, HFSS, CST, or equivalents.
Ability to review engineering specifications, schematics, and drawings and translate customer-driven requirements into clear specifications.
Experience resolving issues and providing technical support.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with analytical and finite element modeling (FEM/FEA) tools for structural and thermal analysis.
Experience with electrical design, electronics manufacturing processes, and hardware qualification (e.g., PCB, cable harness).
Hands-on experience performing environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock) of electronic components and subsystems.
Experience with Systems Engineering tools (CAMEO/DOORS) and architecture
Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
Experience working with specialty engineering stakeholders (PM&P, Safety, Human Factors, others)
Experience leading a team of engineers or project(s)
Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, and measuring tools
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; and ability to read and understand technical requirements documents
Experience in coding and translating analysis results into design implementations.
Proven track record working with external customers to meet program expectations on schedule.
Experience with maintenance and reliability engineering.
Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB, or equivalents.
Experience using Teamcenter/CPLM.
Familiarity with Agile development practices.
Knowledge of various data-transmission formats (e.g., Serial, TCP/IP, Fiber, etc.).
Understanding of discrimination techniques using RF.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Primary Level Salary Range: $169,000.00 - $253,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
