Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Test Engineer to join the Integration and Test Department in Woodland Hills, CA. The role involves leading the conduction of comprehensive verification activities throughout the program life cycle, including requirements analysis, test procedure development, test execution, and formal reporting.  Products you will support could include inertial measurement units, embedded GPS inertial navigations systems, and/or integrated avionics.

 

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Lead and manage the cost, schedule, and performance of testing campaigns
  • Develop test requirements and detailed integration test plans, procedures, readiness reviews (TRRs), test data, and reports
  • Execute qualification testing in accordance with established requirements, plans, and procedures
  • Conduct tests while managing and prioritizing problem resolution
  • Compile data to determine necessary changes in test equipment, procedures, or to establish new test requirements
  • Establish and lead Failure Review Boards for testing anomalies

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Lead cross-functional teams (including hardware, software, and systems engineers) in both laboratory and field environments.
  • Conduct formal technical reviews, such as Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Test Equipment Management that includes the design, development, or integration of specialized test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Data Analysis of test data, identify anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and generate comprehensive test reports.
  • Technical and operational problem solving in order to troubleshoot complex, multi-domain system failures (hardware/software/mechanical) and conduct root cause analyses.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact during test events, managing customer expectations and reporting results.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with 12 years of related test experience, or a Master's Degree with 10 years of experience; or a PhD with 8 years of experience. 16+ years of test experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s Degree will be considered.
  • Experience authoring test procedures, managing test facility interfaces, and ensuring test data integrity and cataloging
  • Experience with test leadership leading a test/integration team with end-to-end testing accountability
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple, shifting priorities while maintaining safety and quality standards
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance within a timeframe acceptable to management
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA with support of test events at offsite testing facilities as required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating/testing GPS, inertial navigation systems, or avionics systems
  • Demonstrated experience in hardware and software systems integration
  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience with EVMS expertise
  • Experience with COMSEC material management
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
