Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Training Architect Engineer to join our team of qualified individuals. This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL.

Exciting position offers the opportunity to drive transformative sector-wide improvement by leading the strategic vision for Training, championing MBSE implementation in CAMEO, and serving as the technical training focal point for all programs and captures. Key Responsibilities :

  • Contribute technical expertise and process leadership in major program reviews, independent technical reviews, SETR events, and program stand-up reviews, and other sector-wide improvement efforts for Training devices and the Training IPT.

  • Lead customer and leadership briefings for training devices and training curriculum, to include content development and peer review

  • Follow Systems Engineering Integration and Testing framework for SETR event structure and internally review team reviews

  • Create and refine closure criteria for RFA's/RFI's/ATM's

  • Review and support implementation of MBSE strategy for training requirements and decomposition into CAMEO model

  • sector-wide improvement efforts.

  • Provide leadership and define strategic vision for technical priorities within the Training discipline to support program & capture efforts.

  • Partner with program discipline leads to evaluate program requirements. Evaluate training solutions, engineering tools, processes, digital solutions, and technical training to meet requirements.

  • Act as training focal point for all technical processes and manuals aligned to the discipline area, ensuring technical excellence and technical compliance to be used in Program and Proposal Development.

  • Develop discipline training framework and technical content to enable a prepared and high performing work force. Develop metrics and monitor training effectiveness in collaboration with program & capture team.

  • Partner with programs for adoption of tools, processes, digital solutions and training

  • Oversee and allocate the Training budget to strengthen technical excellence; advance tools, processes, and workforce capabilities; and generate measurable impact on program performance and future competitiveness.

  • Capture, share, and embed lessons learned and best practices across programs to continuously raise the bar for technical performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and 12 years experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM field and 10 years experience, or a PhD and at least 8 years of experience

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) with detailed architectural knowledge of training systems, Instructional System Design (ISD), and specification development

  • Experience in SSOW interpretation and SDRL evaluation

  • Working knowledge of Supplier Management Team process and operations

  • Experience creating and leading technical interchange meetings

  • Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-29612, Department of Defense Handbook Instructional Systems Development/Systems Approach to Training and Education (Volumes 1 through 5), OPNAV Instruction 1500.76D NAVAL Training Systems Requirements, Acquisition and Management, MIL-PRF-29612B Performance Specification Training Data Products, and NAVAIRINST 4355.19E Systems Engineering Technical Review Process

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance and eligibility for Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance

  • Direct experience with hardware/software integration

  • Working knowledge of working in a secure environment, general networking concepts, and software deployment/installation

  • Experience as a training system Chief Engineer (CE)

  • Experience leading System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) for a program and training system

  • Creation of Technical Review Board data packages

  • Experience in creating systems architecture for Training Device Systems

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
