Sr. Systems Administrator

Description -

We are seeking a VMware and Storage Sr. Systems Administrator who will be responsible for supporting the Communications & Collaborations Solution Systems Management organization. This role will work across multiple development organization and alongside of HP Enterprise Operations and Cybersecurity to ensure reliability of critical product development infrastructure. The role will consist of maintaining technical requirements and aligning the environment with HP Cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, procure, implement and maintain VMware environments across R&D 3 sites.

  • Daily support of the Hybrid Systems development team to ensure high productivity

  • Project delivery and execution to enable new environments for development teams

  • Partner with HP Cybersecurity to ensure compliance with HP Cybersecurity standards

  • Manage Nimble and Qumulo storage systems

  • Maintain asset inventories, expenses, licenses and subscriptions

  • Maintain vendor relationships and securing support & maintenance contracts

  • Maintain HP Configuration Management Database for Hybrid Systems applications and infrastructure

  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to the VMware environment and storage systems

  • Create and maintain technical documentation

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, Windows servers (Active directory, DNS)

  • 3+ years experience with iSCSI storage

  • Familiarity with Hyper-V and Docker environments

  • Familiarity with endpoint protection tools: Crowdstrike, Tenable or similar

  • Availability for on-call support during critical business activities to ensure environment uptime.

Required competencies:

  • You are both a collaborative team member and independent worker who will be given tasks which require problem solving and creative thinking to complete

  • Linux administration and Ansible automation

  • Expert abilities in providing incident response and root cause analysis

  • Ability to communicate technical details to stakeholders and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to collaborate effectively both internally and interdepartmentally

  • Ability to work with and understand IT and Cybersecurity best practices

Preferred:

  • ITIL 4 Foundations or similar

  • VMware Certified Professional or similar

  • Cybersecurity certification is a plus

  • 5+ years experience with HPE c7000 Chassis or Synergy Chassis

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $198,050.00 - 142,150.00 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
