Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Sr Staff Test Pilot for Flight Test Operations based out of Baltimore, MD.
This organization provides flight test capabilities for the development, assessment and demonstration of NGC products and systems.
What You’ll get to Do:
Be a critical member of a team that flies 1,000 flight hours per year conducting flight test on 6 aircraft for 40+ sensor development programs supporting the warfighter.
Participate in large force exercises to showcase technology in operationally relevant environments.
Maintain currency and proficiency in multiple aircraft types (Bombardier CRJ-700, De Havilland Dash 8, Learjet 60XR, Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros).
Perform research and development flight test in support sensor development intended for a wide variety of applications and in various states of technical maturity.
Plan and execute test flights to verify analysis in support of aircraft modifications.
Plan and execute flight operations in support of sensor development throughout the National Airspace System to include Special Use Airspace and cooperation with military assets.
Provide technical support and liaison with program teams in support of sensor integration.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 14 years professional/military experience; Master's degree and 12 years professional/military experience; PhD and 10 years professional/military experience.
Graduate from an internationally recognized Test Pilot School long course (USNTPS, USAFTPS, NTPS, ETPS, EPNER).
Current FAA Class II medical certificate or have the ability to obtain one prior to start.
Minimum 1000 hours fixed wing Aircraft Commander/Pilot in Command/Primary flight time in turbojet, turbofan or turboprop aircraft.
FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) pilot certificate without a centerline thrust restriction or must have the ability to obtain one prior to start.
U.S. Citizenship and an interim U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance is required to start. Must also have the ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of test pilot experience in developmental and/or operational flight test.
FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating.
Master’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
Previous experience in aircraft modifications, configuration and control and technical/operational review boards.
Familiar with government flight test organizations, ranges, and processes.
Technically and operationally familiar with airborne radar systems.
A current/active U.S. Government Secret Security clearance or higher.

Primary Level Salary Range: $222,700.00 - $334,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
