Careers that change lives start here. Medtronic is a global leader in healthcare technology with a Mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Our 95,000 employees work across more than 150 countries to put patients first — developing innovative medical technologies that improve the lives of 72+ million patients each year. Your unique talents will help shape the future of healthcare while building a career grounded in purpose, growth, and impact.

A Day in the Life

We’re looking for a Principal Product Specialist to lead the launch of Onyx and an innovative future embolization launch in the U.S. peripheral market. This person would also own a global multi-product embolization franchise including the MVP Vascular Plug and the Rebar Microcatheter. This is one of the most visible, complex, and consequential commercial roles in our Peripheral Vascular Health portfolio — a chance to bring a category-defining product to a new indication while shaping the future of a global embolization business.

You’ll lead a cross-functional launch team, set the strategy for a portfolio that spans devices, geographies, and customer segments, and operate with the autonomy of a Principal. Ambiguity is part of the job: you’ll be making consequential calls with incomplete information, aligning senior stakeholders behind a clear point of view, and turning a complex set of moving parts into a coherent commercial plan.

What You’ll Do

Lead the U.S. peripheral launch of Onyx. Own the end-to-end commercial launch — positioning, segmentation, pricing, training, KOL strategy, evidence dissemination, field readiness, and launch sequencing. Lead the cross-functional launch team across marketing, sales, clinical, medical education, regulatory, health economics, and supply chain, holding the plan together and driving the decisions that matter.

Own the global Onyx business. Set strategy and partner with OUS marketing counterparts to grow Onyx outside the U.S., aligning messaging, evidence, and lifecycle priorities across regions while respecting local market dynamics. Serve as the global voice of the franchise.

Manage the MVP Vascular Plug and Rebar Microcatheter businesses. Run these as full P&L franchises — pricing strategy, demand forecasting, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), lifecycle management, and annual strategic marketing plans. Make deliberate choices about where to invest, where to defend, and how each product reinforces the broader embolization portfolio.

Set portfolio strategy across embolization. Think across the bag. Onyx, MVP, and Rebar are stronger together than apart — you’ll define how they’re positioned, sold, and supported as a portfolio, and how that portfolio competes and wins in peripheral embolization.

Develop and execute annual strategic marketing plans. Translate market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and customer insight into multi-level marketing campaigns that reach physicians, hospital decision-makers, and patients — and that arm our field with tools that actually move share.

Enable the U.S. field to win. Build the resources, training, messaging, and creative programs that help reps gain share across embolization. Spend meaningful time in the field with reps and physicians to ground your strategy in what’s actually happening in cases and accounts.

Engage physician customers directly. Build durable relationships with interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and interventional cardiologists. Translate clinical perspectives into product positioning, evidence strategy, and portfolio priorities — and bring those voices back into the organization with weight behind them.

Operate with autonomy in ambiguity. Set direction without waiting to be told. Make trade-offs across products, geographies, and timelines. Bring senior leadership a clear recommendation, not just a list of options — and own the outcome.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of relevant experience (5+ with advanced degree), with a strong track record in product management and commercial launch leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a major product launch end-to-end, including coordination of a cross-functional launch team
  • Experience owning a P&L or franchise — forecasting, pricing, IBP, and lifecycle management at scale
  • Experience managing multiple products or businesses simultaneously, with the prioritization discipline to keep the most important work moving
  • Global commercial experience or proven ability to partner effectively with OUS marketing counterparts
  • Strong commercial instincts, executive presence, and the ability to influence senior leaders without authority
  • High comfort with ambiguity and autonomy; able to set direction with incomplete information and adjust as new data arrives
  • Clinical fluency or the demonstrated ability to develop it quickly; comfort in cath labs, ORs, and physician conversations
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Embolization, peripheral vascular, neurovascular, or interventional experience strongly preferred

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
