Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Senior Principal Project Manager, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The leadership role resides in Layton, UT for a restricted program.

In this role, you will plan and execute change packages; maintain technical integration, cost, schedule, and support organization impacts associated with each unique package. Strong communication & organization skills are necessary to coordinate with the customer as well as the internal Integrated Product Teams (IPT)s. You will drive change execution between Engineering, Global Supply Chain and Production to completion and present status and issues to Program Leadership.

In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with the Program office, Leads, technical teams across the restricted program, assisting in all aspects of program execution including EAC, Risk and Opportunities, Proposals, Affordability and Change management.  This includes actively engaging across functional areas and adapting as needed to align to program prioritization.

Some of your skills needed in this role:

  • Technical knowledge and practice in design, analysis, cross-functional integration, or on-aircraft experience with Subsystems, Composites, or Metallic Structures.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Experience in managing the implementation of multi-disciplinary projects and stakeholders

  • Customer facing and leadership facing presentation experience

  • Ability to distill complex issues and convey to a wide audience

  • Knowledge with Configuration Management

  • Ability to excel in a fast paced environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience

  • Experience and understanding and wide application of Change Integration and management principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Team leadership and technical coordination experience highly desired.

  • Experience with Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing and Test documentation.

  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design

  • Current Special Program Access

  • Familiarity with Cost/schedule/budget concepts and tools (EVMS, SAP, etc.). 

  • Experience with manufacturing processes and production rate vehicle development.

  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman’s portfolio, product lines, and business planning processes and tools

  • Experience with JIRA, SharePoint, TRIO, Confluence, CPLM

  • Displays Technical and program review board leadership.  Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

  • Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Contributes to the completion of Change Proposal Development and Risk Management and Opportunity analysis.  

  • Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience in one or more of the following: Aircraft Design, Aircraft Avionics & Electrical Systems, and/or Aircraft Testing

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
