Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Project Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals onsite in Melbourne, Florida.
Due to the nature of the role, an on-site presence is required and this role cannot be performed remotely. The position will follow our 9/80 schedule and allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This is an individual contributor, non-manager role with no direct reports.
The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams in high-tempo environments. This role will actively work with the DevOps (software) Operating Unit (OU) Lead to integrate, control, and analyze cost and schedule performance to ensure success of a restricted program. This position will be expected to assist with reviewing status of projects and budgets, resource planning, preparing for and facilitating meetings, and supporting various administrative functions.
- Key roles and responsibilities:
- Support the DevOps Operating Unit to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations
- Collaborate across Business Areas, Operating Units, and functions to ensure all OU objectives are met
- Assist with monitoring cost & schedule performance, support business management meetings, and subsequent reporting to program leadership
- Facilitate Risk, Issue and Opportunity management
- Establish and maintain the strategic rhythm
- Supports coordinating the efforts of various sub-OU teams
- Earned value (EV) management of labor and material control accounts (as required)
- Reporting earned value status to Program Managers, and OU Management.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in project management, OR Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in project management
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working with and manipulating large amounts of data
- A current active US Government Secret security clearance or higher is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/PAR clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
- Existing PAR/SAP clearance to restricted program
