Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Internal Training Technical – Training Lead (26-303) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

 

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

 

Position Overview:

 

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. The Training Lead is responsible for leading the C2BMC Training Team, which supports both Regional and Global Training activities. Will serve as the representative of the C2BMC National Team within the user community, facilitating coordination across the C2BMC program and with the MDA customer to prioritize and arrange user training in accordance with contractual obligations.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Responsible for developing training materials
  • Responsible for training end users in software application operations and missile defense C2 operations processes for C2BMC required for fielding the systems at Regional or Combatant Command in a multi-contractor team environment
  • Interface with National Team Functional Areas to define and implement the training plans and materials
  • Leads Agile planning for the Training team and collaborates with other product teams to ensure dependencies are captured during Iteration Planning
  • Expected to maintain technical proficiency in C2BMC mission applications software to support demonstrations, exercises, Request for Assessment (RFAS), and operational and test events
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise as a test engineer for software releases
  • Participates in development team events, conducts testing, and identifies discrepancies or issues
  • Responsible for representing the C2BMC National Team within the User community, delivering field training, and leading a train-the-trainer program
  • Responsible for managing control accounts by overseeing the planning, status updates, and staffing accuracy of work packages
  • Partners with the Functional Area Manager and Resource Manager to maintain proper staffing levels, provide Training BOE, and provide cost-estimation support as required
  • Experience with the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) system and Missile Defense

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the eligibility to be read on to SCI clearance
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time for business needs
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in adult education with specialties in Web Technologies and e-learning, and experience developing e-learning training using Computer-Based Training (CBT) authoring tools for web-based training and/or Simulation for a large-scale, software-intensive system
  • Expertise in C2BMC mission applications and in interactive training system design and production for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and C2BMC users
  • Experienced practitioner in Agile development
  • Experience in adult education, training, or teaching
  • CAM/EVMS experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Applicants with a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application are highly desired. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
  • Experience developing training content for web-based and/or computer-based training that supports simulation for a large-scale, software-intensive system
  • Experience with the following tools: Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, and MS Office Suite
  • Security+ Certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
