Compensation Range:

$77,600.00 - $116,400.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Leads a wide range of administrative tasks in ORPA's primary functional areas, including reviewing proposals for consistency with University and sponsor policies, negotiating sponsored program agreements, and providing assistance to those who apply for and receive external support. Oversees training of new staff members and assists and guides staff in regards to day-to-day transactions. Holds signature authority for assistance awards, sub-recipient awards, University proposals and contracts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews, processes, signs, and submits grant applications, sponsored research agreements, and clinical trials. Drafts, reviews, and negotiates moderately complex research agreements, clinical trials, and various other types of agreements associated with research within a large institution. Seeks input from leadership if necessary. Maintains in depth knowledge of University, Sponsor and other relevant policies.
  • Submits mandatory requests to federal agencies, communication and reporting to other non-federal sponsors, and communication with educational institutions and/or external sponsors. Assists in the budgeting of the submitted grants and contracts and has signing authority.
  • Provides expert guidance on all aspects of sponsored programs administration to leadership and other staff. Trains departmental staff and outside parties on fundamental and complex matters. Responsible for oversight of information systems pertinent to research administration and funding. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level staff.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with federal agencies and represents the University in discussions and negotiations. Participates in meetings with both internal and external parties.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience as a Research Administrator in ORPA required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
