Cadence Design Systems Inc. is looking for a motivated Software Engineer II: Automotive Solutions to work with us in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

As a Software Engineer II: Automotive Solutions, you will be part of Automotive Solutions Group and will collaborate with a team of EDA professionals to develop and deliver a product for Functional Safety analysis.

You will be part of a motivated, international, and collaborative team that is shaping the direction and development of a holistic Design-For-Safety approach that integrates Functional Safety as part of the traditional EDA flow. The software engineer will develop, and test, high-quality, object-oriented C++ applications to create maintainable, products using a structured development methodology in an Agile, demanding environment. This role will be an integral part of an engineering team that focuses on bringing safety solutions per the ISO26262 and IEC61508 standards to Cadence customers in the fast growing Automotive/ADAS markets.

Job Description:

  • Develop and test object-oriented C++ applications.
  • Contribute to the definition of requirements for safety applications and product development.
  • Explore and apply modern AI technologies, including LLM-based agents, to accelerate software development.

Requirements:  

  • Complete Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of development experience in C/C++ environments.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles and patterns
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce, SVN) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), with familiarity with Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration (CI/CD) DevOps practices in cross-platform development environments (Microsoft Windows and Linux).
  • Familiarity with other programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, TCL)
  • Good written and spoken English and Portuguese, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Interest and ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment to learn and solve complex challenges
  • Eagerness to grow technically and collaborate within a team, contributing to shared goals and a positive work environment.

Nice To Have:

  • Experience with the Qt framework.
  • Previous experience leading a software development team.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs, particularly for desktop applications.
