What You Will Do
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineering Co-op for our Boeing Platforms Engineering team located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This organization is responsible for developing and supporting real-time embedded software for numerous processing platforms used in our commercial airline avionics products and cockpit display systems.
Support the design, development, and maintenance of flight-critical embedded software for commercial aviation solutions and avionics products
Contribute to assigned cross-functional engineering project team responsible for the design, development, and verification of real-time embedded software
Support project team activities related to the specification of requirements, software implementation, test case development, verification test execution, and certification support
Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints

Qualifications You Must Have
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline
- Must be willing to work 40 hours per week
- Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship/ Co-op session.
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers
- Programming experience in C, C++ and/or Python
- Comfortable with real-time operating system and object-oriented programming concepts
- Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle
- Energetic and proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal and communications skills

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
