What you will do:
The Senior Manager – Site Training will serve as the subject matter expert for the creation and delivery of On-The-Job manufacturing technical training for the Machining & Quality competencies throughout the Asheville facility. This position will partner with business leaders to assess current and future training needs and institute training plans for new and existing employees to ensure a world class workforce.

  • Develop and maintain standardized technical curriculum for employees at the Pratt & Whitney Asheville site. Partner with key stakeholders on the Engineering, Quality Assurance and Operations teams to develop, maintain and deploy training.
  • Implement a Learning Management System for various departments on site
  • Conduct assessments to determine necessary technical proficiencies and develop an effective and transferable training program for hourly employees. Facilitate and deliver technical training through various delivery methods (in person, on-line, self-directed, etc.).
  • Partner with third-party vendors to deliver training on new and existing equipment, processes, and competencies. Establish standard work and best practices that can be leveraged across the business.
  • Proactively and routinely inform management of training status, gaps, and options to close training gaps. Actively participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to meet Training Department objectives.
  • Coordinate the Asheville on-boarding process with Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and Pratt & Whitney Asheville Operations and Quality teams.
  • Assure compliance with training documentation procedures and record maintenance requirements. Assist the Operations & Operational Excellence teams in other areas as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ related experience.
  • Work schedule: Onsite, and must be willing to support pre- and post-shift training, weekend, and other alternate schedules to meet organizational training needs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications We Value:

  • 3+ years of experience in technical training, certification as a Train-the-Trainer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean principles.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and complete project objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and excellent overall technical skills.
  • Advanced Blueprint interpretation and GD&T skills.
  • Proven experience designing, writing technical content, and evaluating deliverables under aggressive timelines in a manufacturing setting.
  • Passion for learning new equipment, ideas and systems quickly, combined with the ability to translate business requirements into employee friendly training materials.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

This position is classified as:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
