Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Shipping Operations Manager 2 based out of Baltimore, MD.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Manage overall operations of BWI Shipping, including shipping office and floor functions and supporting personnel (1st and 2nd shift)
Align ops execution to Northrop Grumman guidance (PrOP) and customer requirements
Engage and develop cross-functional represented and professional teams, including shipping office (SEA), floor (IBEW), drivers (IUE), quality, and analysts
Supervise employees who use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, hand carts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse
Supervise the scheduling with carriers, reconcile freight bills, prepare and negotiate claims, and select or recommend carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material
Supervises employees who maintain records and check invoices/bills of lading
Provide management backup support for Material Distribution Center (MDC)
Perform interpersonal or interdepartmental conflict resolution and optimization
Outline and implement solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
Oversee the processing, packaging, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment
May assist in selecting appropriate containers and wrapping methods for materials to be shipped or stored
Manage and delegate the planning, scheduling, and routing inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight
Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
Act as an advisor to senior management/ELT and customers, including quality and DCMA
Access management of secured storage within Shipping floor
Responsible for conducting investigation and closure of shipping area audits and corrective actions
Report and present area metrics, providing analysis of trends and recommendations for improvement to upper management / ELT
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in manufacturing supporting US Government, commercial, and international customers; master’s degree with 6 years of experience in manufacturing supporting USG, commercial, and international customers
Experience in Global Supply Chain Planning and/or Management
Experience Working with and/or managing represented [union] employees for 5 or more years
Experience with MS Office User (min Intermediate): Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams
Active U.S. Government Secret Security clearance with ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance (s)
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing AND U.S. Government, commercial, and international shipping
Experience with SAP User (Manufacturing Execution System)
Experience with MS SharePoint platform planner and workflow management
Experience in Engineering or engineering management

Primary Level Salary Range: $115,600.00 - $173,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
