Join a team that keeps aerospace moving
At Collins Aerospace, we’re redefining aerospace with technologically advanced, intelligent solutions that help make air travel safer, smarter and more connected.
Our Winnersh Service Center plays an important role in supporting avionics and aerospace systems used across commercial, business and defence aviation. We are now looking for a Service Center Technician to join our experienced team and help manufacture, test, diagnose, repair and support our Winnersh-based products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a practical technical background who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems and developing their skills within a highly regulated, quality-focused aerospace environment.
What you will do
Working as part of a small, experienced and collaborative team, you will support the manufacture, maintenance and repair of avionics and aerospace products.
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on avionics and electronic systems and components.
Assembling, testing and inspecting products and repaired components to ensure they meet required specifications.
Supporting the manufacture and ongoing service of Winnersh-based products.
Carrying out testing and certification activities in accordance with approved procedures and aerospace requirements.
Using technical drawings, specifications, work instructions and test documentation to complete work accurately.
Identifying product issues and working closely with Engineering, Quality and other teams to support investigation and continuous improvement.
Supporting parts, repair, exchange and consignment processes where required.
Accurately completing relevant technical, quality and production documentation.
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, organisation and attention to detail.
Working at all times in accordance with Collins Aerospace quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
What we are looking for
We are interested in people who combine practical technical ability with curiosity and a strong approach to quality.
You may already have experience within aerospace or avionics, or you may have developed transferable technical skills within electronics, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, repair or another highly regulated environment.
Ideally, you will bring:
Hands-on experience within electronics, avionics, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or repair.
The ability to diagnose faults and work methodically through technical problems.
Experience assembling, testing, repairing or maintaining electronic or electromechanical equipment.
The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of quality and traceability.
A safety-conscious and quality-focused approach to your work.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team and across different functions.
A willingness to learn, develop new technical skills and share knowledge with colleagues.
Previous aerospace or avionics experience would be advantageous, but equally important is your technical aptitude, problem-solving ability and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Why join our Winnersh team?
At Winnersh, you will become part of a close-knit and experienced technical team while benefiting from the scale, technology and opportunities available across Collins Aerospace.
You will have the opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, work directly with sophisticated aerospace products and collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to help improve the products and services we provide to our customers.
If you enjoy hands-on technical work, fault finding and seeing the tangible results of what you do, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
Join Collins Aerospace and help keep the systems that connect and protect our world performing at their best.
