Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Director 1 of System Security Engineering to its Strategic Deterrent Systems Division. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. This position may offer relocation assistance. 

 

What you will get to do: 

Direct and lead a multi-disciplinary team in support of Program Protection and Product Protection requirements to include Supply Chain Risk Management, Supply Chain Security, acquisition risk management, and security countermeasure implementation. 

You will lead a cross-functional team spanning the CONUS in the performance of System security engineering activities to include: requirements, architecture, design, threat and vulnerability analysis, development, evaluation, assessment and authorization supporting all phases of systems development and production in the areas of Information Assurance (IA) / system security engineering, security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) as per RMF (Risk Management Framework), Supply Chain Security, Operations Security (OPSEC), Protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) under DFARS 252.204-7012, Hardware/Software Assurance, and protection of Critical Program Information (CPI)/Critical Technologies (CT).  

Execute on strategic planning and cost / schedule focused delivery and mitigation of program risks tied to milestone execution and management of program baseline scope 

Participate as an active program team member in key recurring operations, including NCTA planning and review, program management reviews, recurring status reporting, staff meetings, etc. 

Support program level requirements for multi-sector interfaces and activities where required 

Provide leadership and guidance to a geographically dispersed cross functional matrixed team

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This position may offer relocation assistance. 

 

You'll Bring these Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with at least 10 years of related experience, or Master’s and 8 years’ of experience. 

  •  Experience leading teams/ and or organizations to achieve a common goal

  • 2 years of experience with program financial controls, the business acquisition process and operations, defining and implementing a wide range of performance metrics and dashboards to track trends (Ex. CAM, EVMS)  

  • • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access 

 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

  • PMP Certification 

  • Prior experience with demonstrated technical leadership of weapon system integration  

  • Software engineering lifecycle management experience 

  • Strong cost, schedule, technical, management and negotiation skills 

  • A solid understanding of Program Protection and knowledge in the application of System Security Engineering principles in applying the broad spectrum of security measures (Cyber, Anti-Tamper, HW/SW Assurance, OPSEC, etc.) to protect critical program information (CPI). 

  • A solid understanding of security best practices in addressing supply chain risks 

  • A solid understanding of regulatory requirements for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and DFARS 252.204-7012 

  • Solid understanding of NISPOM and DD254 with implementation and education of security classification guide analysis 

  • Familiarity with key customers, influencers, and decision makers 

  • Well versed in industry, and the competitive landscape 

  • Demonstrated experience working with matrixed or virtual teams 

  • Ability to align Northrop Grumman capabilities and help customers meet their mission Objectives 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation skills, organizational and time management skills, and a strong sales/marketing presence. Candidate must be able to clearly present ideas to senior management, line management, and customers. 

  • Must be able to travel 5-10% of the time 

  • A solid understanding of Cyber protection, resiliency and survivability 

  • CISSP Certification or other DoDI 8570 or equivalent qualification 

  • Experience with RMF, DIACAP, NIST 800-53, security architecture, software assurance 

  • Experience with Trusted System Networks (TSN) analysis 

  • Familiarity with System Theoretic Process Analysis for Security (STPA-Sec) 

  • Experience with Model-based Systems Engineering concepts and tools 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies 

  • Active TS/SCI 

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,800.00 - $290,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
