Raytheon IIS is seeking a Senior. Systems Engineer to join the Infrastructure Environment Management Team (EMT) onsite at our Richardson, TX facility. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, configuring, and managing development, software Integration & Test (I&T), system I&T, and performance test factory infrastructure environments. Your contributions will support critical missions and ensure system stability and usability.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the first line of defense in troubleshooting issues across multiple Integration & Test (I&T) environments
  • Interface with Software Engineers to document installation instructions and support I&T staff by modifying environments as needed
  • Develop and maintain scripts using Bash, Perl, Ruby, or Python to monitor and enhance system stability and usability
  • Manage and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware solutions
  • Support the integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) into system environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Contribute to the maintenance and management of multiple baselines, such as Development, Test, and Production environments
  • Support Information Assurance compliance efforts in alignment with specified standards, such as ICD-503

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies, such as Scrum or SAFe
  • Administrative experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware solutions
  • Experience with programming languages, such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, or Go
  • Experience troubleshooting applications and infrastructure on Linux-based operating systems
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire
  • Active and Current TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required Day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Hands-on experience with virtualization tools and cloud computing, including private (e.g., VMware, OpenStack) or public (e.g., AWS) platforms
  • Experience integrating COTS/FOSS software into system environments
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools, such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience with DevOps tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, or Vagrant
  • Experience with IT infrastructure architecture and configuration management
  • Prior experience as a system administrator for Linux or Windows environments
  • Exposure to Information Assurance compliance with standards such as ICD-503
  • Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Experience with MS Office applications for documentation and communication purposes

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
