The Difference You Will Make:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support our Oracle EPM Planning systems and processes, with a strong focus on bringing AI automation and AI agent capabilities into Finance workflows. This is an important role within the Airbnb BizTech organization supporting Finance. The ideal candidate combines solid technical depth in the Finance Budgeting and Forecasting function with hands-on experience building AI automation and AI agents. Responsibilities include financial forecast modeling, system and AI-driven process transformation, integration with the data warehouse, and translating business requirements into scalable Oracle EPM and AI-enabled solutions.

A Typical Day:

Technical Support & System Admin

  • Application: Support the design, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle EPM Planning modules (Financials, Workforce, Capital, Cash Forecast, Long Range Planning, etc).
  • Calculations & Modeling: Develop and maintain business rules and calc scripts. Proficiency in Groovy Scripting for data and forecast modeling.
  • Data Integration: Support data flows with AWS data warehouse, Oracle ERP Cloud, and Workday, leveraging Data Management, EPM Automate, and internal Airbnb integration tools.
  • Environment Management: Assist with the monthly Oracle patch cycle, including regression testing and impact analysis of new features.

FP&A Functional Support

  • Process Improvement: Partner with FP&A to streamline the budget and forecasting process by automating manual offline models and enhancing data integration to reduce forecast cycle time and improve accuracy.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain reports using EPM Reports; support finance users in Smart View with ad-hoc analysis and template creation.
  • User Support: Support the monthly forecast cycle, resolving issues promptly and engaging Oracle support when needed.

AI Automation & Agent Development

  • AI Agent Building: Design, build, and deploy AI agents and automated workflows that streamline FP&A processes, using both native EPM AI capabilities and external AI/automation tooling.
  • Process Automation: Identify manual, repetitive finance and systems processes and apply AI automation to reduce cycle time and manual effort.
  • Collaboration: Work with Finance and Tech partners to prioritize AI automation opportunities and deliver AI-generated forecasts, analyses, and insights.

Your Expertise:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Hyperion/EPM (minimum 2 years in EPM Cloud). Experience with EPM Automate, Groovy scripting, building forms, reports, application optimization, and administering user access.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting finance functions (FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Tax) with solid financial statement literacy.
  • Hands-on experience building AI automation and AI agents (for example, agentic workflows, LLM-based automation using tooling such as Claude, Gemini, GPT - not specific to EPM's built-in AI).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation, pipeline troubleshooting, and ad-hoc analysis against warehouse tables.
  • Experience supporting integrations between Oracle EPM and ERP via OIC or equivalent middleware.
  • Experience operating data orchestration and ETL/ELT pipelines: monitoring workflow health, managing and re-running failed tasks, reviewing execution logs, and coordinating pipeline incidents with owning teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work with cross-functional stakeholders and clearly document technical processes for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions within or outside of EPM Planning, and to recommend options for decision making.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Pay Range
$164,000$193,000 USD
