THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a Senior System Test and Automation Engineer who will report to the R&D Director, Implementation on the Research and Development team. The successful individual in this role will be part of the R&D team that understands performance requirements, develops test plans, implements testing infrastructure and streamlined test automation, and performs demonstration of Silvus’ MANET radios and other wireless products and technologies under development.
This position is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ownership of the complete design and execution of full coverage test procedures for novel wireless communication, sensing, and other effects and solutions using Silvus hardware and software products
Working closely with R&D system engineers and Engineering teams to understand performance requirements and expected system behaviors, define test plans and implement test automation, perform troubleshooting and qualification of new designs.
Working closely with the software development team to augment test systems to support rollout of new features and product configurations.
Design and implementation of logging and analysis tools to capture performance of both the systems under test and the test infrastructure itself.
Oversight of the usage, performance, and maintenance of laboratory test setups including variety of wireless environment emulation and test equipment and environments.
Test and hardening of existing features through firmware and hardware changes in a practical environment.
Other related duties, of which the above are representative.
Travel Requirements - Occasional domestic travel away from the office, including overnight, to support experimentation and demonstration of cutting-edge technology under development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, specifically in system test and automation
Demonstrated experience in embedded firmware development, testing, scripting, C/C++, and python
Demonstrated experience in wireless/networking in an electronics manufacturing or R&D environment.
Proven experience with lab instruments such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and wireless environment emulation equipment and laboratory configuration
Proven experience with wireless and radio communication systems, radio frequency signal propagation principles, and digital communication technologies.
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Advanced degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP networking.
Excellent organizational skills, attentiveness to details, and ability to multi-task and quickly switch gears.
Strong verbal and written communications skills to effectively communicate internally and with customers.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office environment.
Indoor air-conditioned facility.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
Walking/Moving in the labs.
COMPENSATION: $140,000 - $195,000 / annually
