THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a Senior SEIT Lead (Product Solutions) to join our Product organization, reporting directly to the Director of Product Solutions.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as the critical bridge between product requirements and successful product realization. You will drive cross-functional engineering teams (Electrical, Mechanical, and Software) to bring complex, ruggedized products and systems from initial concept through full production. The ideal candidate combines deep technical leadership, rigorous risk management, and a product-focused mindset to deliver mission-critical solutions on schedule. This position may require infrequent travel to support key project milestones.
This position is based at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA, and is on a hybrid schedule. A minimum of 3 days onsite per week is expected. On-site days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements & Specifications: Collaboratively define and refine product requirements alongside Product Managers; translate those requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications for design implementation.
Risk Management & Problem Solving: Proactively evaluate technical, schedule, and resource risks during the design phase. Identify bottlenecks early and implement effective mitigation paths.
Design for Manufacturing & Production Readiness: Manage resources and resolve technical challenges throughout the product lifecycle. Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities, build-cost viability analysis, and implement the seamless transition from engineering to pre-production (including BOM management, drawing updates, configuration control, and test planning) then into a production environment.
Integration & Validation: Plan, organize, and execute comprehensive product and system integration. Perform and oversee hands-on testing, including electrical and mechanical validation, thermal characterization, First Article Acceptance Testing (FAAT), environmental qualification, and field evaluations.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with applicable defense and aerospace standards, including MIL-STD-810 (Environmental), MIL-STD-461/464 (EMI/EMC), and MIL-STD-1472 (Human Factors) and safety/environmental compliance (RoHS, REACH, UL, TSA, etc). Develop qualification plans and manage internal and external test laboratories as required.
Technical Mentorship & Quality Leadership: Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance across the team. Advise and mentor junior engineers and enforce rigorous engineering standards to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Communication & Governance: Lead weekly cross-functional team meetings and deliver concise, high-level project status and milestone updates to senior management.
