Senior Remote Sales Account Manager, Surgical - Northeast US

A Day in the Life
In Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring and Surgical portfolios, we are committed to partnering with Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs) to improve clinical outcomes, expand access to care, support safe and efficient outpatient procedures, and optimize operational and financial performance.The Account Manager sells Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring and Surgical portfolio products remotely to ASC customers and works to retain and grow business within an assigned geographic area and/or specific customer accounts for pre-defined territory locations in this office-based role. This role focuses on helping ASC customers standardize care, improve workflow efficiency, support patient safety, and deliver value across the perioperative continuum.

This role will require 25% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Remotely sell Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring and Surgical portfolio products to Ambulatory Surgical Centers within an assigned geography and/or account base to achieve or exceed sales goals.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory sales plan focused on ASC growth, account penetration, portfolio expansion, and competitive conversion opportunities.
- Identify, develop, and close opportunities across both portfolios by aligning Medtronic solutions to ASC priorities such as patient safety, procedural efficiency, throughput, standardization, and cost management.
- Build consultative relationships with ASC administrators, business office leaders, materials managers, OR directors, clinical leaders, anesthesia stakeholders, physicians, and end users.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of ASC workflows, outpatient procedure trends, site-of-care shifts, and the operational and financial drivers that influence purchasing decisions in the ASC environment.
- Present the features, benefits, and value of aligned Acute Care & Monitoring and Surgical solutions using appropriate situational sales methodologies tailored to both clinical and economic decision makers.
- Position cross-portfolio value by identifying opportunities to support the ASC across perioperative care, procedural efficiency, monitoring, and surgical workflow.
- Present proposals, negotiate pricing, and effectively differentiate Medtronic offerings in a competitive ASC marketplace.
- Conduct virtual product education, in-services, and training for clinical and non-clinical personnel on product applications, functionality, and best practices.
- Partner effectively with field-based partners, clinical specialists, distribution partners, and GPO relationships to drive account alignment and execution.
- Use technology platforms and data to analyze territory performance, prioritize accounts, track opportunities, and improve targeting within the ASC segment.
- Effectively manage sales pipeline, opportunity stages, and customer activity through SFDC and other sales tools.
- Meet or exceed required selling activity metrics established by leadership.
- Maintain current knowledge of the ASC industry, alternate site trends, reimbursement dynamics, GPO and distribution models, healthcare economics, and competitive products.
- Provide input on new market opportunities, product launches, customer needs, and portfolio strategies specific to the ASC segment.
Must Have – Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this position, the following basic qualifications must be evident on your resume:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 8+ years experience*
- OR Associate’s Degree AND 6+ years experience*
- OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 4+ years experience*
*Relevant sales, customer support, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences
Nice to Have – Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of healthcare sales experience
- 4+ years documented sales success or equivalent experience, preferably in tangible products or consultative B2B selling
- Demonstrated ability to manage a sales territory, build relationships, and consistently achieve results
- Strong verbal, written, and virtual presentation skills
- Experience selling medical devices, capital equipment, surgical products, monitoring solutions, or related healthcare technologies
- Experience selling into Ambulatory Surgical Centers, physician offices, alternate sites of care, or hospital outpatient settings
- Knowledge of perioperative workflow, ASC operations, and the clinical and economic factors that influence outpatient procedural environments
- Experience calling on administrators, supply chain, clinical leaders, physicians, and other stakeholders within the ASC setting
- Practical knowledge of consultative selling techniques, territory planning, and relationship-based account development
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive measurable growth
- Business planning and pipeline management skills
- Ability to teach and educate medical personnel, peers, and technical support personnel
- Demonstrated ability to use technology and applications such as iPad, Salesforce.com, SAP, and virtual selling platforms
- Experience selling complex products over the phone, email, and virtual platforms
- Degree in biological science or business preferred

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
