Collins Connected Aviation – Air Traffic Systems (ATS) organization has an immediate need for a Senior Quality Engineer within our ATS team.  As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will work collaboratively with other engineers in the design, development, and qualification of various hardware and software components and systems.  You will work closely with cross-functional teams to successfully implement hardware and software solutions that meet Customer requirements and be required to lead data driven continuous improvement for overall quality performance of our ATS products. You will provide Quality Sciences subject matter expertise in accordance with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and ensure product and process compliance to meet tactical and strategic objectives. 

In this position, you must be results-oriented and possess strong communication skills, capable of driving root-cause analysis and corrective action solutions across interdisciplinary teams.   Your expertise will help drive innovation and contribute to the organization’s overall success! 

This role will be worked onsite in Marlborough, MA and will require obtaining a FAA clearance.  Relocation assistance is not available.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines, including hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components

  • Review of technical documentation, including specifications, schematics and test plans for conformance to requirements.

  • Participate in test and evaluation of components and systems to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards

  • Perform process and product assessments for compliance to company directives, project plans, procedures, and work instructions

  • Interface with suppliers and/or customers to resolve concerns, providing early detection and risk mitigation

  • Present requirement verification and formal product acceptance, ensuring delivered end product meets requirements

  • Provide Quality expertise for resolving hardware and software-related issues, driving corrective action and process improvement initiatives

  • Participate in design reviews, providing feedback, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices in hardware and software design and development

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • Must be a US Citizen with current FAA clearance or ability to obtain

  • Experience with analytical skills in root-cause analysis and/or corrective/preventive actions

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, SAP applications, Atlassian tool suite, CAD and/or Visio

  • Experience with quality systems, ISO9001/AS9100, quality concepts and general understanding of aerospace/defense regulations and standards.

  • Critical-thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
