Northrop Grumman’s Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability Division has an opening for an Operating Unit Senior Programs Director for its Targeting Systems Operating Unit. This position will be located in Rolling Meadows, IL, requiring travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities, customer, and supplier sites as needed. The position reports directly to the Electronic Warfare & Targeting Business Unit Vice President.
As the Targeting Systems OU Senior Programs Director, the director will be tasked with ensuring successful execution of existing programs that span all phases of the product life cycle including development, production and sustainment. The OUD will also be responsible for the strategic pursuit of new EO/IR business opportunities to grow the business portfolio. In addition, the director will be responsible for the direct management and people leadership of a team of program managers leading the various programs and pursuits in the portfolio.
The Operating Unit Senior Programs Director will lead all phases of production programs from capture and inception through program closeout. Key responsibilities entail:
· Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of production programs.
· The director will lead a program management team aligned to common program performance goals.
· Acts as customer contact for program and capture activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance and new business opportunities.
· Develop the OU growth strategy and lead the team through proposal preparations and negotiations to grow the business
· The successful candidate will strategically align the production direct and supporting organizations within the OU to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic objectives.
· Provide day-to-day people leadership of team and create an environment that accelerates development of talent; drive continuous improvement, and enhance employee engagement
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree and 15 or more years of program executing and/or growing a diverse new business pipeline in the defense sector
· Profit and loss leadership of a program portfolio that spans production and development programs.
· Lead a diverse team of functional and program direct reports in developing and executing the vision and business strategy to achieve and exceed growth and overall financial objectives.
· Demonstrated expertise in customer shaping and engagement strategies.
· Current relationships within the customer community spanning the DoD and Prime Contractors.
· Ability to build and lead a program management team with a vision for success.
· Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
· A minimum of an active US Government Secret with the ability to obtain a US Government Top Secret/SCI clearance; OR DoE equivalent with the ability to obtain a US Government Top Secret/SCI clearance
· Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience running a diverse operating unit
· Prior experience growing a business
Primary Level Salary Range: $254,200.00 - $381,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
