Raytheon is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead execution across a portfolio of Air Force development programs, including radar development and processor initiatives. This role is responsible for cost, schedule, and technical performance; disciplined execution; cross-functional integration; and proactive customer engagement. The Senior Program Manager will support program growth, lead major proposal efforts, and ensure delivery of critical capabilities to U.S. Air Force and DoD customers.

What You Will Do

  • Portfolio Leadership
    • Lead execution across major Air Force Development programs, including engineering development, processor initiatives, and production and sustainment efforts.
    • Drive alignment, coordination, and execution excellence across interconnected program areas within the AF Development portfolio.
  • Program Management & Execution
    • Lead procurement, manufacturing, integration, and testing for engineering development units and related deliverables.
    • Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) with responsibility for program planning, baseline management, and earned value performance.
    • Manage development activities for advanced processor hardware, ensuring alignment with broader radar and sensing program needs.
    • Oversee production and sustainment activities, ensuring on-time delivery for multiple internal and external customers.
  • Proposal Leadership
    • Lead proposal development, strategy, and negotiations for new and follow‑on efforts, including major development, production, and sustainment proposals.
    • Support long‑term program growth and alignment with customer and enterprise priorities.
  • Cross‑Functional Team Leadership
    • Direct cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Contracts, Mission Assurance, and related functions.
    • Drive risk and opportunity management to maintain program baselines and identify areas for strategic acceleration.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Maintain proactive communication with U.S. Air Force, DoD customers, government representatives, prime contractors, and internal stakeholders.
    • Rapidly identify and remove barriers to program execution; ensure alignment with customer needs and commitments.
  • Program Controls & Execution Discipline
    • Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance using EVMS, IMP/IMS, and established Raytheon program management processes.
    • Ensure consistent, disciplined program execution across all assigned development, production, and sustainment activities.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical execution using EVMS and/or similar tools
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance and program access after start

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Program Management Level 4 or 5 Certification (or equivalent), or ability to obtain with one year
  • Experience leading complex development and first‑time build efforts
  • Experience leading major proposal and negotiation activities
  • Experience working with U.S. Air Force, DoD customers, primes, or FMS partners
  • Demonstrated competencies in strategic thinking, communication, collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and results orientation

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
