The Opportunity

The Senior Product Manager position works out of our Austin, TX or Sylmar, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management Division.

This is a fully onsite role.

As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias or irregular heartbeats.

This role is responsible for leading the organization in leveraging passion about healthcare and technology to impact patients’ lives. 

This role will support Leadless and Low Voltage Therapies within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Division

This position will lead product strategy and drive the direction of new product development for designated leadless and low voltage therapy product lines.  

The individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that both new products and enhancements to existing offerings deliver meaningful value to customers and contribute to advancing the standard of care.

The Product Manager is responsible for the product from identification of customer and market needs/wants, to concept and product development, claims and data development, and developing and driving execution of product launch teams, financial analysis / modeling, and related long-range portfolio management for the assigned product line(s).

What You'll Work On

  • Lead downstream marketing and commercialization strategy for assigned product portfolio, developing differentiated positioning, value propositions, messaging, and branding grounded in Voice of Customer (VoC), clinical evidence, market insights, and approved claims to drive adoption, market share growth, and customer engagement.

  • Own the successful planning and execution of new product launches, partnering with cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, regional marketing, and commercial organizations to ensure launch readiness and achievement of revenue, market share, and strategic business objectives.

  • Develop and present clear, compelling, and data-driven business recommendations to senior leadership by leveraging market research, competitive intelligence, customer insights, and commercial analytics to shape portfolio strategy, guide investment decisions, and accelerate growth across assigned product lines.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on competitive dynamics, market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies, translating insights into compelling value propositions, competitive positioning, sales enablement tools, and evidence-based messaging that clearly differentiates Abbott solutions and drives profitable growth.

  • Own the annual marketing and commercialization plans for assigned product lines, integrating portfolio strategy, customer segmentation, market development initiatives, pricing considerations, launch activities, and lifecycle management programs to achieve short- and long-term business objectives.

  • Lead lifecycle management activities for the portfolio, identifying opportunities for market expansion, indication growth, line extensions, portfolio optimization, and sustained revenue generation across the product lifecycle.

  • Develop executive-level business cases, strategic plans, and investment recommendations to support portfolio priorities, market development opportunities, and resource allocation decisions.

  • Establish and manage strategic relationships with physicians, key opinion leaders (KOLs), customers, agencies, market research partners, and external vendors to generate actionable market insights and execute business initiatives while ensuring compliance with Abbott policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Define, monitor, and communicate key business performance indicators, including revenue, market share, product adoption, launch performance, and customer engagement metrics, ensuring continuous optimization of commercial programs and portfolio performance.

  • Influence and align stakeholders across a highly matrixed global organization, serving as a trusted partner to commercial leadership and cross-functional teams to drive execution, accountability, and business impact.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelors Degree in Related field or an an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Masters Degree- MBA strongly preferred

  • Minimum 5 years

  • 5-8 years of related work experience with a complete understanding of specified functional area.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices. Uses knowledge of in-depth business unit dependencies/ relationships.  Acts as a technical resource.  Recognized as an expert in the company.  Will perform this job in a quality system environment.  Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations. Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.  Exercises judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Has expert knowledge of the impact of various solutions on the business.

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in international marketing/product management in the medical device, life science research, pharma or diagnostics industry.

  • Experience in working in a global corporation with matrix structure and able to work effectively through collaboration with others to accomplish goals and objectives.

  • Experience prioritizing and managing project initiatives across multiple functions and/or business units. Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business model.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment -- multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong project management, team skills, and influential management.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner and meeting assigned deadlines.

  • Ability to travel, approximately 30%, including internationally.

The base pay for this position is

$113,300.00 – $226,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
