The Senior Manager, Patient & Consumer Marketing serves as the Patient & Consumer Marketing Leader for the Neuromodulation business, responsible for translating the Integrated Communications vision into integrated patient and consumer engagement strategies that strengthen therapy awareness, generate demand, deepen customer relationships and drive measurable business impact. As a member of the Integrated Communications Leadership Team, this role owns the Patient & Consumer Marketing capability across the Neuromodulation portfolio by connecting customer insights, storytelling, customer journeys, growth marketing, content strategy, multichannel engagement and performance optimization into seamless customer experiences.

This role is responsible for operationalizing the Integrated Communications vision by translating enterprise priorities into scalable marketing programs, high-performing teams and modern marketing capabilities. While highly strategic, the role remains closely connected to execution, providing leadership, coaching and oversight across patient marketing, growth marketing, content development and multichannel activation. The successful candidate will lead a combination of direct reports, matrixed specialists and agency partners while continuously advancing the organization's Patient & Consumer Marketing capability.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Own the Patient & Consumer Marketing Capability

  • Develop and execute integrated patient and consumer marketing strategies that advance the Integrated Communications vision and support business priorities.

  • Translate business priorities into scalable engagement programs that strengthen therapy awareness, generate demand and deepen customer relationships.

  • Connect customer insights, content strategy, customer journeys, growth marketing, multichannel activation and analytics into integrated customer experiences.

Own Patient & Consumer Engagement Strategy

  • Develop integrated engagement strategies that support patients and caregivers throughout the customer journey.

  • Design and continuously optimize end-to-end customer journeys across awareness, consideration, engagement, conversion and long-term relationship building.

  • Develop audience segmentation, lifecycle marketing and personalization strategies that improve customer engagement and business performance.

  • Lead patient and caregiver insights to inform marketing strategy, messaging and customer experience design.

  • Partner closely with Commercial Marketing, Medical Education, Regional Marketing and Digital teams to ensure patient engagement strategies align with business priorities while delivering a consistent customer experience across all touchpoints.

Own Growth Marketing & Demand Generation

  • Provide strategic oversight for demand generation, CRM, marketing automation, digital media, audience acquisition and patient engagement programs.

  • Partner with Growth Marketing specialists and agency partners to develop annual marketing plans, investment strategies, campaign forecasts and optimization plans.

  • Review campaign performance, reporting and agency recommendations to maximize marketing effectiveness, customer engagement and return on investment.

Own Patient & Consumer Content Strategy

  • Own the patient and consumer content strategy across the customer journey, ensuring messaging, storytelling and creative assets support therapy awareness, demand generation and long-term engagement.

  • Partner closely with the PR & Marketing Communications team to translate integrated communications strategies into patient-centered engagement programs that deliver a seamless customer experience across the full customer journey.

  • Collaborate with creative teams and agency partners to develop compelling, compliant content across web, email, CRM, social media, webinars, paid media, video and emerging digital channels.

  • Ensure all patient-facing communications reflect audience insights, brand standards and integrated messaging strategies.

Lead Organizational Excellence

  • Directly lead members of the Patient & Consumer Marketing team, including Growth Marketing and International Patient Marketing.

  • Build organizational capability through scalable processes, modern marketing practices, AI-enabled ways of working and continuous improvement.

  • Serve as a trusted member of the Integrated Communications Leadership Team, contributing to organizational planning, capability development and long-term growth.

Drive Performance & Innovation

  • Define KPIs and measurement frameworks across therapy awareness, customer engagement, demand generation, conversion and customer experience.

  • Leverage analytics, customer insights and performance data to continuously optimize marketing strategies and investment decisions.

  • Share performance insights and strategic recommendations with senior leadership to inform future marketing investments and priorities.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of people or program managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of people or program managerial experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in consumer marketing, patient marketing, integrated marketing, brand marketing or demand generation within medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare or other regulated healthcare industries.

  • Demonstrated success developing integrated marketing strategies that influence consumer behavior and deliver measurable business outcomes.

  • Experience building end-to-end customer journeys and integrated engagement strategies.

  • Strong understanding of direct-to-patient (DTP), direct-to-consumer (DTC), growth marketing, CRM, marketing automation, content strategy and multichannel engagement.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience leveraging marketing performance data to drive strategic decisions.

  • Experience leading patient or consumer marketing within a global medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare organization.

  • Experience building and scaling patient engagement, demand generation or integrated marketing capabilities.

  • Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple therapies, brands or product portfolios.

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CRM platforms, marketing automation and digital analytics.

  • Experience leveraging AI, personalization and emerging technologies to improve customer engagement and marketing effectiveness.

  • Experience managing global marketing initiatives across multiple regions and markets

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$159,200.00 - $238,800.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
