Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for facilities, utilities, building operations, and critical infrastructure systems. As a Senior Facilities Engineer, you will design, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize critical facilities systems while leading capital improvement projects, engineering studies, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll play a key role in maximizing equipment performance, supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.

In this individual contributor role, you will provide technical and project leadership while partnering with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Facilities, EHS, Engineering, and external vendors to ensure facilities systems and infrastructure meet safety, reliability, efficiency, and operational requirements.

This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide hands-on engineering support and continuous improvement for facilities equipment, utilities, Building Management Systems (BMS), infrastructure, and capital projects.
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for critical facility systems, including HVAC, fire protection systems, boilers, chillers, and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Provide engineering support to Manufacturing and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment and utility issues, identify root causes, and improve system performance and reliability.
  • Lead facilities capital improvement projects, equipment installations, facility expansions, and infrastructure upgrades from planning through implementation.
  • Conduct engineering studies, process improvements, and equipment evaluations to maximize facilities system performance and support process validation activities.
  • Support capital project planning, technical specifications, project justification, budgeting, cost control, and equipment design with appropriate oversight.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, consultants, equipment suppliers, and vendors to ensure projects and facility operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, specifications, and records associated with facilities, utilities, and building systems.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Maintenance teams to apply Lean principles and implement solutions for equipment, process, and utility-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS procedures, OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and applicable building and environmental requirements while supporting emergency response and completing required EHS/Safety activities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), facility automation, and energy conservation methods.
  • Experience with critical facilities systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, fire protection systems, and related utilities.
  • Experience leading capital improvement projects, equipment installations, facility expansions, or infrastructure upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, equipment suppliers, project budgets, and technical specifications.
