The Opportunity:

CACI is currently seeking a Senior Engineer III in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) C5ISR Center's Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate in support of multi-domain operations, Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) integration, and advanced M&S capabilities.

Perform systems engineering tasks across the full lifecycle for assigned aviation, ground, missile, space, sea, and soldier weapon systems, programs, and projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technologies supporting Army modernization efforts and Combatant Command operations.

Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering:

  • Provide SE support and technical expertise during all phases of the life cycle for assigned weapon systems, programs, and projects 

  • Perform systems engineering tasks in accordance with DoD SE guidance and IEEE 15288, 15288.1, and 15288.2 standards 

  • Conduct requirements definition and analysis, operational/functional/physical architecture development, and design synthesis 

  • Execute verification and validation activities, and support transition to operational use and sustainment 

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):

  • Develop and implement MBSE tools and products to support SE processes throughout the acquisition lifecycle 

  • Create MBSE project plans, best practices, and procedures for assigned systems 

  • Develop performance specifications, operational architecture descriptions, and System Modeling Language (SysML) diagrams 

  • Generate Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) views using Unified Profile for DoDAF and MODAF (UPDM) or Unified Architecture Framework Modeling Language (UAFML) 

Technical Analysis & Support:

  • Perform trade studies and analysis to support system-level decision making 

  • Conduct fidelity analysis to determine appropriate models for system-of-systems architecture representation 

  • Support concept of operations, behavioral analysis, system architecture, and requirement traceability 

  • Provide systems engineering expertise for M&S requirements including test/evaluation/training exercise augmentation 

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work collaboratively with other contractors, government partners, system primes, OEMs, and industry vendors 

  • Prepare technical documentation, status reports, and briefings for government customers 

  • Support technical reviews, exercise support, field tests, and budget reviews 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field 

  • Minimum Experience: 8 years

  • 12+ years experience in lieu of degree

  • Strong understanding of system-of-systems (SoS) engineering principles

  • Experience with requirements management and technical baseline development

  • Knowledge of verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) processes

  • Familiarity with M&S tools and simulation environments

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Desired:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in relevant engineering discipline is highly valued

  • Demonstrated experience in aerospace or industrial engineering applications

  • Experience with systems engineering processes per IEEE 15288 standards

  • Proficiency in MBSE methodologies and tools

  • Experience with weapon systems development and integration

  • Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and program management

  • Experience supporting DEVCOM or other Army research and development organizations

  • Knowledge of Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) architectures 

  • Experience with digital engineering and digital transformation initiatives 

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Familiarity with DoDAF/MODAF architecture frameworks 

  • Experience with AI/ML applications in systems engineering

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$86,100 - $181,000
