Job Description

DUTIES: Serve as chief engineer of the next generation compute motherboard (GPU, MLA, custom silicon). Execute on design, analysis, development, testing, and management. Collaborate with Cruise and Tier 1 supplier. DRE for Autonomous Driving Compute including all elements of hardware and software. Capable of organizing and driving design for manufacturing initiatives. Develop component technical specifications as well as statement of requirements and subsystem technical specifications. Lead formal design, peer, and quality reviews. Lead resolution of technical issues. Lead product development team meetings. Support sourcing activities. Support vehicle Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) activities. Primary GM engineering interface with the component suppliers. Knowledge of hardware and software interfaces. Ensure all vehicle program imperatives including cost, timing, investment, and quality are met. Generate technical solutions for current, new and major programs. Provide technical leadership for advanced technology development. Perform complex design analysis. Develop engineering designs including subsystems. Implement engineering changes. Initiate documents to provide engineering authority and to maintain math data. Solve engineering related problems. Work with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support build programs. Plan and implement test and development programs. Release parts and subsystems for production. Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations. Coordinate and consult with departments outside engineering, including manufacturing. Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office. Travel - Less than 10%.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and Five (5) years of experience as a Product Assurance Supervisor, Global Product Assurance, New Product Development or related occupation. Three (3) years of experience with: Perform, test, debug, and validate on test bench and in vehicle component, subsystem and vehicle technical specifications of embedded Electronic Control Units (ECUs), using LabView, Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, and Python tools. Engineer, design and develop test methods and techniques using standards to validate system, subsystem and component requirements according to International Standards Organization (ISO) for environment validation standards. Define, perform and ensure Electronic Control Modules performance according to Component Technical Specification (CTS), Subsystem Technical Specification (SSTS), and Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS) and certification compliance with regulations defined by environmental, Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and durability standards using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Review Based upon Test Results (DRBTR), and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools. One (1) year of experience with: Use IBM Rational DOORS tool to capture and analyze Component Technical Specification (CTS) for electronic control units (ECUs).
