A Day in the Life
The Senior Clinical Reporting & Analytics Analyst leads reporting, analytics, and automation for Clinical Operations. This role develops Power BI dashboards, integrates data across clinical and business systems, establishes meaningful KPIs, and automates manual reporting processes to improve portfolio visibility, operational efficiency, and leadership decision-making.
The Senior Clinical Reporting & Analytics Analyst supports Clinical Operations by serving as the primary resource for reporting, analytics, and process automation. This role develops and maintains Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions, and automated workflows that provide visibility into portfolio performance, study execution, resource utilization, and overall operational health. By partnering with stakeholders, the analyst transforms data into actionable insights that improve decision-making, reporting efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

Reporting & Analytics
Serve as the primary Power BI resource supporting Clinical Operations.
Design, develop, and maintain portfolio, project, operational, resource, and financial dashboards.
Develop and maintain KPIs, metrics, scorecards, and visualizations that support business performance monitoring.
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
Develop executive-level reporting that supports data-driven decision-making.
Recommend reporting enhancements, visualization strategies, and dashboard improvements that increase operational visibility and business performance.
Lead end-to-end reporting development including requirements gathering, data sourcing, validation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Manage automated reporting schedules and distribution processes.
Maintain reporting documentation, data definitions, governance standards, and best practices.
Data Integration & Management
Integrate and transform data from multiple enterprise systems including CTMS, financial systems, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Excel, and other operational platforms.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across reporting and analytics solutions.
Develop scalable data models and reporting structures that support long-term business needs.
Establish reporting standards and data management practices that improve accessibility and usability of business information.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows and automation solutions that reduce manual effort.
Standardize reporting processes and business metrics across the organization.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through analytics, automation, and process optimization.
Evaluate emerging technologies, analytics platforms, automation tools, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve reporting efficiency and business insights.
Stakeholder Partnership
Partner with Project Managers, study teams, finance partners, and functional stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
Translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
Communicate analytical findings, recommendations, and performance insights to stakeholders and leadership.
Facilitate collaboration across functional teams to support reporting and operational improvement initiatives.
Provide guidance and training on reporting tools, dashboards, metrics, and analytics capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
4+ years of experience in business analytics, reporting, process improvement, project operations, or related functions (or 2+ with an advanced degree)
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, and data visualization design
Experience transforming data from multiple sources into clear, actionable reporting solutions
Strong ability to gather business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and analytics tools
Experience developing executive-level dashboards, KPI reporting, and operational metrics
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
Experience integrating data across multiple enterprise systems
Experience with Power Automate, Power Query, SQL, and reporting automation
Experience supporting clinical research, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated environments
Experience with CTMS platforms, portfolio management tools, and related operational reporting
Ability to independently identify reporting opportunities and recommend metrics, KPIs, and visualization strategies aligned to business objectives
Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics, reporting automation, and emerging technologies that support business improvement and decision-making
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
