This position will work onsite in Louisville, Colorado.
We are looking for a strong candidate with a background in domestic and international component procurement. In this exciting role as a Senior Buyer/ Planner, you will have responsibility for MRP accuracy, purchase planning and execution, PO maintenance and raw material inventory. This includes placing Purchase Orders for raw materials (including Kanban agreements), raising call up, negotiating timely delivery for ensuring cost effective acquisition of quality materials, checking validating BOM for Buy material, inventory analytics to reduce unhealthy inventory. This position leads and works in a collaborative environment with Production planning, Manufacturing, Commodity Management, Supplier Quality and Supplier Management
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Understand, validate, correct, and act on Material Requirement planning (MRP) and its messages. Get BOM, yields corrected to ensure MRP signal is right.
- Source, purchase, plan, and schedule the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process.
- Actively manage raw material inventory – analyzing it , reducing unhealthy inventory to exceed Partners with Sourcing Engineer on resolve supplier issue of Quality, capacity, Lead time
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects involving Supply Chain, Sector and/or corporate initiatives that ensure business objectives are met.
- Ensure compliance with procedures and represent purchasing in audits.
- Coordinate and follow up with production, warehouse, IQC and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
- Compile information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
- May monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning.
- Meet inventory goals while supporting material requirements for production.
- Maintain PO for dates and Quantity to remain current and drive excellence in Supplier OTIF
- Represent Purchasing in Manufacturing, Operations Scheduling and other daily Tier meetings.
- Very close coordination with supplier as well as Manufacturing to ensure there are no line downs due to Material.
- Place timely purchase orders, expedite material and resolve payment issues with suppliers.
- Partner with Commodity Management/ Supply Management on supplier Value Stream, Capacity Planning, supplier issues/delays and Business continuity assessment
- Proactively escalate any supplier issues, get buy in from a cross functional team to ensure risk (of line down) are mitigated.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
- Procurement experience sourcing components from both domestic and international suppliers; experience managing tariff implications, coordinating ocean/air shipments, and navigating global supply chain challenges.
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong preference on SAP)
- Familiarity with Blue Yonder planning system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software.
- Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.
- Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.
- Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical)
- APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience
- Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.)
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
