The Opportunity
The Global Trade Compliance department's primary function is to provide corporate-wide leadership and direction for the development, administration and enforcement of policies and procedures related to Abbott's global trade compliance program.


The Sr. Analyst's primary responsibility is to support and manage the post-entry aspects of U.S. Customs and Border Protection matters, including protest, prior disclosures, post-summary corrections, liquidated damages/bill review, duty recovery, and customs compliance investigations.

This role partners closely with internal business teams, customs brokers, and external legal advisors to identify compliance issues, assess risk, prepare corrective actions, and ensure timely and accurate submissions to government agencies.
 

The Senior Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. import regulations, with particular emphasis on protests, prior disclosures, and post-entry compliance controls.

 What You’ll Work On

  • Lead and support protests, prior disclosure analysis, post-summary corrections (PSC), and CF28/29 responses.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, customs brokers, outside legal counsel to gather relevant import records and supporting documentation to support claims.

  • Monitor protest, prior disclosure, PSC, liquidated damages, bills timelines and ensure submissions, supplements, and tender payments are completed accurately and timely through resolution.

  • Maintain organized records, supporting data, correspondence, and government communications.

  • Identify inconsistencies, errors, or trends requiring corrective action.

  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes, CBP guidance, trade remedies, tariff actions, and enforcement priorities impacting the company’s import operations.

  • Partner with business teams to implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from prior disclosures, protests, or internal reviews.

  • Travel 5% - 10%

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, (Finance, Compliance, Audit, or other relevant area).

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in U.S. import compliance, or customs brokerage.  

  • Experience preparing or supporting customs protests, prior disclosures, post-summary corrections, or customs audit responses.

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, including 19 CFR, entry requirements, liquidation, protests, prior disclosures, valuation, classification, country of origin.

  • Ability to analyze large volumes of import data and identify compliance risks, financial exposure, and corrective action requirements.

  • Strong writing skills, with ability to prepare clear, well-supported regulatory submissions, summaries, and business communications.

  • High attention to detail and problem solving

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.

  • Sound judgment and ability to assess compliance risk.

  • High integrity and commitment to regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.

  • Perform under pressure, multitask with tight deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment. US Customs has the authority to demand information on short notice.

  • Accordingly, responsive, timely troubleshooting is mandatory for success in this position.

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
