The Opportunity
Our location in Abbott Park (Lake County), IL currently has an opportunity for a Scientist Applied Research to conduct research, correlate and verify ideas through experimentation, share information, and participate in team activities.
Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
What You’ll Work On
Support and maintain compliance with the company Quality System and established procedures.
Perform assigned laboratory or technical tasks using established methods and scientific principles.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instruments and equipment.
Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and recommend next steps.
Use computer applications, including Microsoft Office programs and internal systems, to document and track work.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project summaries.
Identify, investigate, and assist in resolving technical issues.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
Present project updates and findings to team members and cross-functional stakeholders, as needed.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and share knowledge to support team success.
Communicate information clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Contribute ideas for process improvements and problem solving.
Required Qualifications
B.S in biological or physical sciences, or mathematics; with at least 4 years of experience or M.S. with 2 years' experience OR Ph.D.
Working knowledge of experimental approaches/protocols and scientific methods such as designing experiments and interpreting data, with increasing knowledge complexity with experience.
Awareness of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics
Basic computer skills - able to learn new computer programs
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other software computer tools.
Experience with developing immunoassays.
Proficient in Alinity i and c instruments
Understanding of design control procedures.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

The base pay for this position is
$68,000.00 – $136,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
