We are seeking an experienced SAP Business Analyst to serve as a functional subject matter expert supporting our planning operations in Mission Systems. This support role is critical to ensuring seamless SAP system functionality for our Aerospace and Defense business. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business users and technical teams, providing expert guidance on SAP best practices while ensuring compliance with government contract requirements and industry regulations.


** This is a hybrid-based position at one of Collins’ major facilities. **

What YOU will do:

  • Serve as functional subject matter expert for SAP planning processes, delivering end-user support and ensuring alignment with organizational policies and government contract requirements.

  • Sustain SAP operations through issue resolution, system change validation, and knowledge base management.

  • Develop and deliver training materials, process documentation and standard operating procedures to support continuous improvement and system adoption.

  • Support enterprise planning digital initiatives on behalf of Mission Systems, assisting with implementation activities such as requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, training, and Go Live support.

  • Work with other SAP cross-functional groups to complete large production enhancement projects.

  • Participate in the SAP S/4HANA transformation project as necessary to support successful deployment for planning workstreams within the Mission Systems organization.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Proven experience providing SAP end-user support and troubleshooting in a functional analyst capacity.

  • Deep knowledge of planning (MRP) processes and their integration with contracts, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and logistics functions in a mixed .

  • MTS (Make-to-Stock) and GPD (Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution) environment
    Considerable experience with CM processes, including PLM-SAP interfaces, material. masters, DIRS, BOMS, and change master effectivity.

  • A good understanding of Collins MMAS requirements for Sales, CM/PLM, Master Data and Planning & Operations.

  • Extensive experience with all aspects of SIOP, master scheduling, materials planning, demand planning, and their support planning tools, such as Kinaxis Maestro, SAP, and Always On.

  • Experience with the end-to-end incorporation of published engineering changes (From PLM System to Production).

  • Experience with production planning, including shop floor control, along with tool knowledge for shortage identification such as Pelico and Zshortage, exception message management, planned order conversion, and production order release.

  • Significant knowledge of the purchasing function as it relates to the planning function, including a good understanding of MRP-generated and manually-generated purchase requisitions.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including work centers, routings, SAP-MES integration using tools such as Solumina, capacity tools, and COGI processing.

  • Working knowledge of the SAP quality and inventory, in particular their interactions with the planning function.

  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience with knowledge of government contracting requirements.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose complex business process issues and deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization

  • Understanding of SAP planning security roles, transactional authorization, and approval authority

  • Understanding of Export Control regulations (ITAR/EAR)

  • Project management experience in a GPD environment

  • Experience with SAP ECC & S/4HANA

  • Proficient in data analysis tools, with an advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel and

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • ASCM CPIM certification (Association for Supply Chain Management - Certification in Planning and Inventory Management) is highly preferred

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
