Position Responsibilities
(All engineers will participate and work within the below scope of work appropriate to their technical capabilities)
Generate unit or lower-level requirements documents. Support system and subsystem engineers to define unit or lower-level performance, interface and environmental requirements and respective verification methods
Develops architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms
Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements
Creates and validates gain-loss budgets to understand RF performance over environmental conditions, life, and part-to-part variation
Generate unit or lower-level test procedures
Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
Provides support to products throughout lifecycle
Works under general direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This worksite participates in Boeing’s optional 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts, 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance Post-Start is required.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5+ years of related work experience
Ability to effectively communicate in a cross-functional team environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Demonstrated success in complex product development through qualification and production
Test planning, development and execution including hands-on test experience
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance for which the Government requires U.S. Citizenship (Top Secret/SCI)
Ability to travel 10% of the time
Knowledge in some, or all, of the following subjects:
Electromagnetics and RF/Microwave theory
RF circuit design and packaging techniques (active and passive)
RF Gain-Loss budget of cascaded RF circuits/systems
DAC/ADC configuration and optimization
Printed circuit board layout and design
Design tools: AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, ADS
Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced, Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
