The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Antenna / RF Test Engineer to support our Antenna Test and Integration Engineering team. This position plays a critical hands-on role in the assembly, integration, and testing of antennas and RF-related components, as well as the day-to-day operation of our spherical near-field (SNF) and related antenna measurement chambers.

The successful candidate will work closely with RF, mechanical, and electrical engineers to execute high-quality test campaigns, support design reviews, and help optimize scheduling and chamber operations in a high-mix, low-volume production and development environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, integrate, and test antennas and RF-related components and subsystems in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Assist in the setup, operation, and execution of testing conducted in spherical near-field (SNF) and other antenna/RF test chambers.
  • Perform RF measurements using network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and related test equipment.
  • Support chamber operations including fixture setup, antenna under test (AUT) mounting, cable routing, calibration activities, and basic troubleshooting of measurement issues.
  • Aid the engineering department by participating in design reviews and providing practical, hands-on input on manufacturability, testability, assembly methods, and fixture/tooling considerations.
  • Provide inputs on test scheduling, chamber utilization, and day-to-day operations to help improve throughput, reduce downtime, and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Document test setups, procedures, results, and any non-conformances; generate clear and accurate test data packages and reports as required.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of RF and electromechanical assemblies and support root-cause analysis of test anomalies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; follow all safety, ESD, and quality procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other cross-functional team members to meet program schedules and quality objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (active Secret preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the assembly, integration, and/or testing of RF, microwave, or antenna systems (military, aerospace, or commercial experience accepted).
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and precision assembly techniques.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to document work clearly and interface with engineers.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, collaborative technical team in a fast-paced environment.

Desired:

  • Experience with antenna measurement systems, near-field or far-field ranges, or anechoic chamber operations.
  • Hands-on experience assembling or testing helical, horn, patch, phased-array, or other antenna types.
  • Soldering, crimping, and RF connector termination experience (SMA, Type-N, etc.).
  • Familiarity with basic RF principles (S-parameters, gain, VSWR/return loss, impedance matching).
  • Experience supporting design reviews or providing manufacturability / testability feedback to engineering.
  • Prior experience in high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing or prototype development environments.
  • Military electronics or RF/avionics technician background.
  • Physical Requirements & Other
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs
