The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the manager, the analyst is responsible for working across the professional fee org providing strategic oversight for all assigned revenue cycle projects. Functions include, but are not limited to: partnering with information services on system-based projects, improvements and upgrades impacting revenue cycle. The project analyst may be responsible for preparing reports, analyzes data, and presents revenue cycle findings to the Project Management Manager. The project analyst must have demonstrated working knowledge and a high-level understanding of data reporting and of the full revenue cycle. The project analyst reports directly to the Manager of Project Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

With guidance from the Project Manager:

  • Evaluates requests for project management support and assists revenue cycle leaders and staff in defining project scope. Documents understanding of the project background, driving factors and provides a thorough assessment of overall project impact to revenue cycle operations. Quantifies impact using key performance indicators, where appropriate. Provides detailed recommendations for improvement. Engages information services partners as needed to accelerate project resolution. Documents toolkit development for better education/usage.
  • Understands the flow of information within the professional billing system and how to match fields and data to revenue cycle processes. Meets with information systems partners to understand system and process impacts on revenue cycle workflows. Produces narratives mapping processes with data to support best practices.
  • Builds or runs reports to quantify the impact of identified revenue cycle projects and opportunities. Interprets data and summarizes findings and presents to the Manager. Makes recommendations for process improvement or escalates to the Manager for additional investigation and action plan development.
  • Additional billing responsibilities include but are not limited to; enrollment, clearing house vendor relationships, problem solving for; any HIPAA related issues, and third-party vendors i.e., EPACES. Facilitate and Manage Epic work queue processes within professional billing including but not limited to Provider Enrollment, Patient inquires and third-party verification systems.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years billing office experience preferred
  • 1 year data reporting experience preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of the professional billing software applications preferred
