Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector  is seeking a Sr. Principal Project Management – Level 4 within the Electronics and Payloads Division. This position will support our Eastern Region Engineering Team. 

The successful candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal and external teams in high-tempo environments. This position will be expected to assist with reviewing status of projects and budgets, resource planning, preparing for and facilitating meetings, and supporting various administrative functions.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Primary focus is supporting the IPT Leads to complete a variety of precise, time-sensitive deliverables
  • Support and follow up on design review closeout
  • Follow up and track PO releases for engineering (non-deliverable) material purchases
  • Maintain monthly check in on hardware design processes across all space programs under Electronics and Payload Division
  • Facilitate internal meetings with necessary stakeholders as required to support hardware/firmware engineering proposal reviews and ensure all inputs are captured and necessary reviews are completed to meet program and company requirements
  • Partner with Mission Systems (MS) to participate in the implementation and use of tools and templates for monitoring the design process.
  • Manage schedules and prepare status reports
  • Support IPT leads to interface with cross-functional departments to secure team staffing
  • Work with external suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
  • Opportunity to lead a small IRAD project to gain program experience

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80, allowing employees who work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Project Management:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience in project management, OR Master’s degree with 6 years’ experience in project management. Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance. US citizenship required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with and manipulating detail-oriented data
  • Advanced understanding of PMP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Risk, Issue, Opportunity Processes and management
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
  • High energy, strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and a hands-on level, as needed.
  • Experience processing large amounts of information, synthesizing, and integrating to meet various leadership team needs.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
