The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works organization is seeking a talented Project Engineer (Level 4) to join the Advanced Materials and Platform Technologies (AMPT) Team within our Tech Base in Berkeley, MO as a Sub Portfolio Lead.
The Phantom Works organization develops new and exciting defense capabilities. The Tech Base performs science and technology development to invent and mature unique technologies that enable systems, functions, or processes up to the point of transition. This role supports the planning and execution of portfolio activities that advance emerging technologies toward transition readiness.
Position Responsibilities
Lead and support execution of an S&T portfolio within the AMPT Tech Base as a Sub Portfolio Lead for assigned efforts.
Coordinate and assign tasks to support portfolio execution, ensuring alignment with technical scope, schedule, and performance objectives.
Track portfolio status, including technical progress, milestones, deliverables, risks, opportunities, and execution health.
Collaborate with technical teams, program leadership, and stakeholders to align execution with business and mission priorities.
Support proposal response development by coordinating technical inputs, resource requirements, schedule inputs, and execution planning.
Request and coordinate required personnel, facilities, test assets, and other execution resources.
Prepare portfolio briefings, reports, and decision-support materials for leadership and stakeholders.
Support technology maturation, road mapping, and transition planning from concept development through application.
Promote cross-functional communication, innovation, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at any of the listed locations.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Experience in project engineering, technical project coordination, R&D, or science and technology program support.
Experience coordinating tasks, schedules, deliverables, and technical inputs across multiple stakeholders.
Experience tracking project or portfolio status, including milestones, risks, and execution priorities.
Experience working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting science and technology portfolio management or technical project leadership in aerospace, defense, or another complex technical environment.
Experience with proposal response development and execution planning.
Familiarity with resource coordination, including personnel, facilities, test assets, or other execution needs.
Experience in preparing leadership-level briefings, status reports, or decision-support materials.
Knowledge of technology maturation, transition planning, or TRL-based development.
Demonstrated ability to drive actions across diverse technical teams.
Advanced degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline.
Familiarity with advanced materials, platform technologies, or related technology development areas.
Knowledge or working with materials and product design related to electromagnetics or electro physics.
