Overview
Yale University is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Program Manager of Optometry.The Program Manager of Optometry is a licensed optometrist responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical and operational functions of the Division of Optometry within the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science. Reporting to the Director of Optometry, this position provides patient care while supporting daily practice operations, care coordination, clinic efficiency, patient access, and implementation of divisional initiatives across ambulatory practice sites.
This role serves as an operational and clinical leader within the division and collaborates closely with faculty, physicians, clinical staff, trainees, and departmental leadership to support high-quality patient care, effective workflow management, efficient clinic operations, and achievement of divisional goals.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
Experience with electronic health records.
Required Education and Experience
Completion of an accredited Optometry Residency program and two years of clinical optometry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Defines and documents patients’ Optometry problems and reaches proper diagnoses. 2. Plans and executes therapy in a timely manner. 3. Keeps records of care and provides consultation and teaching for mid-level clinicians. 4. Supports the department and examines walk-in and call-in patients on a timely basis. 5. Demonstrates concern for the welfare of all patients and works to build and provide care for individual panel as well as provides back-up for colleagues within the department. 6. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Doctor of Optometry Degree and two years of experience as an optometrist or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required License(s) or Certification(s) CT Medical License, CT Controlled Substance Registration, Federal DEA Registration, Board Certification or board eligible.
