Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, Propulsion Systems is currently recruiting for several Program Managers level 3 in Utah in support of our Strategic, Advance and Space Launch programs. The roles are 100% on-site and will be located either in Bacchus (Magna) or Promontory Utah.

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager 3 will support the program execution of contracts, develop and execute business growth strategies, have Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability, and supervise direct reports and additional staff responsible for program performance. The selected candidate will possess strong leadership skills and take ownership of their programs, including overall management of technical, financial and contract commitments.  Emphasis will also be placed on communication with both internal and external customers, as well as functional organizations.

Role And Responsibilities:

  • Lead successful execution of programs across safety, quality, schedule, technical requirements, and cost.

  • Manage teams to achieve all production, billing, and revenue milestones.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to program managers, interns, and cross-functional team members.

  • Drive a results-oriented culture, challenge the status quo, and identify creative ways to manage cost versus risk.

  • Represent Northrop Grumman to customers, clearly communicating our capabilities and aligning them with customer needs.

  • Execute programs and resolve issues in alignment with business objectives, contract terms, regulations, and company procedures.

  • Balance the interests of customers, Northrop Grumman, and employees in program decisions.

  • Lead program participation in customer and internal working group meetings.

  • Support request-for-proposal (RFP) responses and lead commitment reviews with program and Propulsion Systems leadership.

  • Establish, communicate, and maintain clear program priorities, including managing changes to the program baseline.

  • Communicate clearly, succinctly, and persuasively in both verbal and written form with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure programs remain on track to meet master plans, milestones, and delivery commitments.

  • Apply Integrated Master Schedules, Integrated Factory Schedules, and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to monitor and control performance.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, initiating corrective actions as required.

  • Oversee program budgets and participate in monthly business management reviews and corporate reporting.

  • Accurately forecast financial performance and align program actions and communications to achieve financial and program milestones.

  • Assist in negotiating contracts, modifications, pricing, and terms, and in resolving contract issues in partnership with prime and government customers.

  • Drive technical excellence by setting program standards and working closely with technical teams and Operations Program Managers (OPMs) to balance risk and performance.

  • Leverage existing programs and Propulsion Systems capabilities to help identify, shape, and win new business opportunities with customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Finance with 10 years’ experience supporting US Government contracts or customers in a manufacturing environment

  • Five (5) plus years’ experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either a Program/Project Manager, Integrated Program Lead (IPT) or Cost Account Manager (CAM)

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment to achieve a single objective

  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks

  • Experience in cost reduction strategies, lean manufacturing principles and quality improvement tools such as six sigma, PES and/or TPS

  • Ability to understand technical and financial customer requirements to ensure customer needs are met

  • Experience in managing suppliers

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline

  • Earned Value Management experience

  • Experience with solid rocket motors or missile defense programs

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
