Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our Restricted Emerging Operating Unit within the Advanced Mission Capabilities Business Unit as a Production Operations Manager 2 based out of Baltimore, MD.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Manage the production execution for Operating Unit programs

  • Manage Manufacturing cost and schedule performance

  • Serve as Manufacturing lead for all proposals in the Operating Unit

  • Create and lead teams to resolve the issues adversely impacting the Manufacturing execution of the programs

  • Comprehend and report on Manufacturing Operations status at the required level of detail to the Program Manager, Sector Executive Management and customers

  • Ensure Manufacturing has the resources needed (resources Manufacturing needs as well as allocation of resources from Manufacturing) to execute the programs

  • Serve as Functional Manager and direct the work of the reporting Operations Project Managers

  • Perform manpower planning and execute hiring to support the Business Division

  • Mentor, develop, and assess direct reports

  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure all Program and Manufacturing objectives are achieved

  • Provide Manufacturing expertise to support the strategic vision of the Business Division

  • Work with cross organizational teams and customers to set and clearly articulate goals/priorities as well as communicate them to key stakeholders

Basic Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline; Master’s degree with 6 years of work experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline

  • Experience leading people across large organizations  

  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement 

  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems 

  • Experience troubleshooting and developing creative solutions to meet customer demands 

  • Experience driving continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities 

  • Experience with SAP/ERP systems

  • Current/Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance is required 

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Expertise in earned value management, proposal preparation, and/or integrated master schedule (IMS) development

  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)

  • Manufacturing experience of defense related electronics

  • Continuous improvement techniques – Six Sigma, Kaizen, LEAN, Red X, etc.

  • Proposal creation and labor estimating

  • Technical project management

  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Investigation type activities

  • Experience as a Functional Manager

  • Experience with data mining/manipulation & presentation

  • Expertise in executive leadership (Director or VP level) communication and engagement

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,800.00 - $209,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
