Production Aviation Training Manager I
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee production aviation training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Establish and maintain an aviation-related qualification, certification, and documentation system.
- Schedule and coordinate both in-house and off-site training programs for production aviation personnel.
- Partner with Human Resources to integrate Production Aviation Training with New Employee Orientation, ensuring initial training for job responsibilities.
- Conduct assessments to identify training needs and develop customized training plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Maintain currency in education, training methods and techniques, and audio-visual technology within budgetary constraints.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to ensure continuous improvement and development of training staff.
- Prepare and manage the training budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations and standards as they relate to training activities.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure Part 145, QMS, and Technician specific training is created and effectively administered.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- In lieu of Bachelor's degree, 11+ years of related training experience and leading small teams
- 7+ years of experience in government relations.
- 7+ years of experience in training/instructional roles, preferably within aviation or manufacturing
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs.
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Workday).
- Ability to create training content and curricula for compliance and cross-departmental needs.
- Experience in culture change or change management, preferably in environments with military or aviation backgrounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to urgent, last-minute requests.
- Experience working with diverse groups, including veterans and technical staff.
- Ability to build positive relationships and serve as a resource across all company levels.
- Knowledge and awareness of FAA Part 145 Training Operations, Experience working with a Quality Management System, Previous MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) experience.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs in various environments, including classroom, on-site, and online settings.
- Must be able to stand and conduct training sessions for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Proficiency in using computers and software applications related to training and education.
- Must have strong hand/finger dexterity to operate audio-visual equipment and training tools.
- Ability to work in both office and field settings.
- Ability to travel as required for off-site training sessions.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with diverse teams across the organization.
