At Raytheon, Product Safety is a disciplined, structured approach to ensuring that Raytheon products across the business do not cause harm throughout their entire lifecycle. The Product Safety team develops, implements and maintains the Product Safety Management System, incorporating these four elements: Product Safety Process, Product Safety Risk Management, Product Safety Assurance, and Product Safety Promotion. These elements define how Raytheon builds, communicates, and maintains safety in its products.
This role provides dedicated leadership for the Risk Management and Safety Assurance elements of the Raytheon Product Safety Management System (PSMS). This role manages the PSMS processes, ensures elevated risks and safety board outputs are tracked and escalated appropriately, and supports the Product Safety Board process and execution. The role enables cross-functional alignment, communication of risk, documentation management, project tracking, and coordination across engineering, quality, operations, mission assurance, and program teams.
What You Will Do
- Track elevated product safety risks identified by engineering, Mission Assurance & Product Safety (MAPS) leads, quality, operations, or PSBs.
- Facilitate risk communication and trades for decision-making across functions.
- Manage identified risk mitigations and work with teams to incorporate into program processes.
- Maintain risk documentation, records, mitigation status, and retention requirements using SharePoint.
- Leverage data analytics to evaluate risk trends and PSMS performance.
- Manage PSB actions, investigations, corrective actions, and resolutions.
- Maintain assurance documentation and digital repositories.
- Coordinate cross-functional follow-up actions.
- Prepare for internal safety reviews, evaluations, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Active U.S. Government-issued Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Quality, Systems Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, quality, mission assurance, project management, operations, or cross-functional roles.
- Experience coordinating governance processes, boards, or multi-functional reviews.
- Experience in digital documentation management (e.g., Sharepoint, PowerBI).
- Position may require up to 30% travel based on business and program needs.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with system safety, product safety, quality, or risk management processes.
- Experience working across engineering, mission assurance, operations, quality, and program teams.
- Experience supporting corrective actions or ECAB activities.
- Familiarity with safety culture, engagement activities, or employee feedback systems.
- Experience developing dashboards, trackers, or SharePoint structures.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
