At Raytheon, Product Safety is a disciplined, structured approach to ensuring that Raytheon products across the business do not cause harm throughout their entire lifecycle. The Product Safety team develops, implements and maintains the Product Safety Management System, incorporating these four elements: Product Safety Process, Product Safety Risk Management, Product Safety Assurance, and Product Safety Promotion. These elements define how Raytheon builds, communicates, and maintains safety in its products.

This position provides dedicated leadership for the Policy and Promotion pillars of the Raytheon Product Safety Management System (PSMS). The role also supports Product Safety CORE efforts, to include supporting understanding of CORE maturity, driving cross-domain engagement, and alignment across all functions in Raytheon. The position leads product safety policy governance, employee safety culture development, role-based training, ambassador engagement, and communication channels that strengthen product safety performance across the business.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the policy and process lead for Product Safety, ensuring safety expectations are reflected in all business policies, procedures, and process changes. 
  • Represent Product Safety on process review boards, engineering governance forums, and functional process updates. 
  • Lead the Raytheon PSMS Promotion pillar, responsible for driving the strategy of safety communications, cultural initiatives, and role-based promotion activities. 
  • Identify organizational gaps and partner across functions to develop role-based and tailored product safety training. 
  • Lead and support Product Safety Ambassadors by developing training and providing tools, guidance, engagement activities, and communication support. 
  • Support rollout and action planning for the Product Safety Culture Survey. 
  • Serve as Product Safety CORE focal, leading CORE engagements and maintaining CORE maturity artifacts and metrics 
  • Collaborate with Engineering Corrective Action Board (eCAB) and Engineering Governance Council to represent Product Safety in CORE-linked engineering corrective action projects. 
  • Drive cross-functional engagement and promote a Just Culture. 
     

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Active U.S. Government-issued Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Quality, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline. 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Engineering, Quality, Operations, Mission Assurance, Systems Engineering, Risk Management, or related cross-functional roles. 
  • Experience supporting training, culture, communication, or engagement programs. 
  • CORE certified or ability to obtain CORE certifications.
  • Position may require up to 30% travel based on business and program needs.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience developing role-based or technical training content. 
  • Familiarity with corrective action systems or risk management tools. 
  • Experience with enterprise maturity frameworks (CORE or similar). 
  • Systems-level thinking across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Programs. 
  • Experience supporting culture development or ambassador networks.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
