The Compression Systems Engineering Project Discipline Organization is looking for an experienced, leadership and people oriented, and highly motivated individual to be the Project Discipline Manager for a Military Development Program, reporting to the Compressions Systems Engineering Project Director.   

What You Will Do

  • In this supervisory role for approximately 5-10 project engineers, your primary objectives will be to: 
  • Serve as a member of the CIPT Leadership Team.   
  • Promote technical excellence in support of the Engine Development Plan including ordering and delivery of hardware to support testing. This may include guiding and assisting the IPTs in resolving delivery issues and non-conformances of critical parts, technology advancement, manufacturability support including Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) progression, performing root cause investigations, and completing component qualification/validation activities.  
  • Support of RLPM incorporation across various teams.  This includes responsibility for task execution accountability and enabling staffing strategies that fulfill the business and program needs.  
  • Guide the project teams in the execution of the Agile Project Management Framework, including the development of product owners and scrum masters. 
  • Provide oversite and approval of project standard work, outsource statements of work (SOWs), as well as acting as a project quorum member for design reviews.  
  • Develop talent and mentor your team for technical and career growth. 
  • This position may require up to 10% travel. 
  • This role is onsite in East Hartford, CT.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 12+ years of experience OR 
  • Advanced degree with 10+ years of experience 
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Demonstrated competency in SAP, Teamcenter, Agile, Confluence, Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, and other project management tools 
  • Activity security clearance

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) 

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

  

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
