About the role:

  • Potential to include shift working in the future (Initially a Day shift role)

  • Supporting Process Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering Team’s

  • Working across multiple internal customers (Integrated Program Team’s)

  • Backed by a large established Engineering team

  • Excellent working environment (On site role)

What your days will look like:

·         Provide support to the production line, deal with queries and challenges from Production Floor personnel (mainly around HLA/Cell areas)

·         2nd line support for any line stop issues escalating any complex issues to Engineering team’s

·         Preventative (scheduled) Maintenance tasks

·         Review manufacturing performance metrics and report any anomalies or trends, determine root cause and corrective & preventative actions

·         Assist Engineering with any investigations / initiatives

·         Support PRB/NCMR reviews (driving thorough RCCA)

·         Participate in Continuous Improvement activities

·         Maintenance of MES routers

·         Creation/Editing of Work instructions

·         Support tooling & equipment requirements, e.g. maintenance, calibration, replacement, raising purchase requisitions

·         Support all Environmental, Health & Safety standards and requirements

·         Support audit and verification activities as required

The skills and experience we’re looking for:

·         Qualification – HNC in Manufacturing / Process Engineering or similar). Previous experience and knowledge can be used to determine competence

·         Understanding of Manufacturing processes and requirements

·         Knowledge of MES systems (e.g. Visiprise)

·         Basic data analysis techniques, e.g. extract data from MES system/SAP and spreadsheet analysis

·         Energetic self-starter, prepared to generate ideas and initiate action

·         Ability to take direction and instruction

·         Ability to work as an active contributor to a team

·         Competent communicator – written and verbal – ability to take technical information and express it in layman terms for Operations staff to use

·         PC literacy with MS office packages as a minimum

·         Hands-on approach to issues on the production line

Desirable:

·         A demonstrable interest in manufacturing or engineering

·         Manufacturing processes and requirements

·         Flexibility to work other shifts & extra hours if required

·         Working knowledge of manufacturing software packages (Minitab, SAP, MES Systems)

·         Experience / Interest in critical thinking & problem solving

For this role the successful hire will need to be a permanent UK resident and successfully complete a baseline (BPSS) security and background check.
