We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.

This role is onsite, and can be located in any of these locations: Lafayette (CO), Mounds View (MN) or Brooklyn Park (MN).

At Medtronic Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM), we are working toward a powerful vision: enabling personalized patient care—anytime, anywhere. Our teams are developing next‑generation patient monitoring, airway management, and connected care solutions that bring together clinical expertise, advanced analytics, and digital innovation to support clinicians in the moments that matter most. We committed to advancing health equity by expanding access to care, designing technologies that serve diverse patient populations, and partnering with healthcare systems around the world to address gaps in care.

We are seeking a Senior R&D Product Portfolio Intelligence Specialist to serve as a strategic analytics partner. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on decision enablement, not report production. The person in this role will connect fragmented enterprise data, anticipate leadership questions, and translate complex R&D, operational, and commercial signals into clear, decisionready insights.

This is not a reporting-only or finance-focused analyst role. This role functions as a righthand analytics partner to ACM R&D leadership, helping reduce manual analytics burden while improving how portfolio, product, and commercialization decisions are made across the value chain. The successful candidate will design and deliver endtoend, integrated data solutions that connect fragmented enterprise systems and translate complex R&D data into clear, actionable insights for global leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Data Integration & Systems Thinking

  • Integrate data across disconnected enterprise systems (R&D, PMO, Quality, SAP, inventory, forecasting, and sales data) to create a unified view of product and portfolio performance.

  • Partner with owners of planning and portfolio tools (e.g., Meisterplan) to translate outputs into leadershipready insights.

  • Proactively identify data gaps and anticipate future information needs, not just current reporting requirements.

DecisionFocused Analytics

  • Deliver analytics that inform LT / ELTlevel decisions, not static dashboards.

  • Connect R&D execution to downstream business impact, including:

  • Program and milestone progress

  • Risk, delays, and resource constraints

  • Inventory, endoflife, and commercialization timing

  • Forecast vs. actual sales implications linked back to R&D delivery

  • Frame analysis around impact, tradeoffs, and recommended actions.

R&D, Portfolio & Product Context

  • Support analytics tied to new product development, portfolio health, and R&D execution, rather than finance or sales ops reporting.

  • Partner closely with R&D, PMO, Design Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Operations to understand context and constraints.

  • Translate ambiguous leadership questions into structured analytical approaches.

Automation, Alerting & Scalable Insights

  • Build and enhance automated dashboards, alerts, and triggerbased notifications to surface material risks or opportunities.

  • Reduce adhoc analysis through repeatable, trusted insight delivery.

Stakeholder Partnership & Communication

  • Engage directly with Directors, Senior Directors, and Principallevel stakeholders.

  • Present insights clearly and concisely, adjusting depth for technical vs. executive audiences.

  • Act as a thought partner, not a passive report generator.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience delivering advanced analytics in R&D, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or productbased environments.

  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in innovationdriven or engineeringled organizations.

  • Familiarity with R&D lifecycle processes, portfolio management, or regulated product development environments.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating multiple enterprise datasets into cohesive analytical solutions.

  • Experience working with complex, imperfect, or highly segmented data.

  • Proven ability to deliver leadershiplevel insights that inform decisions.

  • Experience working with SAP, planning tools, and operational datasets.

  • Exposure to resource planning, capacity visibility, or portfolio prioritization analytics.

  • Proficiency with SQL and at least one advanced analytics language (Python or R).

  • Experience with automation and workflow tools (e.g., Power Automate).

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
