Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman's Flight Systems Post-Boost, Payloads and Protections Operating Unit is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.
You will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, reviewing designs, and integrating with other NG integrated product teams to ensure adherence to, and implementation of requirements. You will actively participate in design reviews, design release, research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and solutions. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are critical to being successful in this position.
The standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant expereince
- U.S. citizen
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Experience performing mechanical design and release efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
- Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM or equivalent
- Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX or equivalent
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible in changing direction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
- Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
